Used 2022 Hyundai Elantra for Sale near Kansas

How much does the 2022 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 5.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,591 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Hyundai Elantra earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

Drivers consistently praise its excellent value, fuel efficiency, safety features, stylish design, and impressive warranty. That lines up with the car’s role as a well-equipped compact sedan that feels like a strong value proposition rather than a stripped-down basic car.

The main trade-offs are the underwhelming base engine, uncomfortable seats, and noisy demeanor. For you, that means the Elantra makes the most sense if you want a feature-rich compact sedan for everyday commuting and value-focused ownership, not if you prioritize refinement above all else.

Good and great deals account for 35.8% of listings, which gives you a decent chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to the Elantra as a dependable, trouble-free choice with strong long-term appeal, especially because owners highlight its warranty, features, and fuel efficiency. The expert review also reinforces that sense of durability and confidence by emphasizing top-notch product quality and an industry-leading warranty.

Hyundai’s complimentary maintenance and long warranty coverage add another layer of ownership reassurance. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific car you choose has been cared for properly, since condition and maintenance history matter more than the model’s broad reputation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Hyundai Elantra?

At 74.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has had bodywork or shows uneven panel gaps, tire wear, or interior wear that doesn’t match the mileage. Focus on overall condition, because the Elantra’s value proposition is strongest when the car is clean, well-kept, and still feels tight and modern.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited each bring different equipment levels, and the base trim is the most stripped-down version of the lineup. The Limited stands out for its richer tech and upscale feel, while the N Line adds sporty design elements and a more performance-oriented cabin.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 147 horsepower with a CVT and front-wheel drive, while the N Line uses a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 201 hp and either a manual or DCT. The standard setup is adequate, but the N Line is the better pick if you want more punch.
• Safety package: The standard SmartSense suite includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, and lane-centering assistance. Higher trims can add intersection turn assistance, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, rear automatic braking, and Highway Drive Assist.
• Infotainment: The base car gets an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, Bluetooth, four speakers, and dual USB ports. Higher trims add more speakers, satellite radio, connected services, and on Limited a 10.25-inch touchscreen with navigation, a digital instrument cluster, and wireless charging.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA combined figure ranges from 37 mpg for the SE to 28 mpg for the N Line with manual transmission, and 31 mpg with the DCT. The Hybrid Blue reaches 54 mpg, while the Hybrid Limited returns 50 mpg.

Which 2022 Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra is offered in 4 trim levels: SE, SEL, N Line, and Limited.

Here's the short version:

• SE: This is the value-first choice if you want the lowest entry price and still want a strong safety and tech package. It makes the most sense if you care more about affordability and efficiency than extra luxury features.
• SEL: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more speakers, satellite radio, Blue Link connected services, and available Digital Key while staying below the sportier and pricier trims. If you want a balanced daily driver, this is the trim to focus on.
• N Line: This is the pick if you want the most engaging driving experience in the gas lineup. It adds the turbocharged engine, sport-tuned suspension, multi-link rear suspension, larger brakes, and a more aggressive look, but the sport seats can be less comfortable on long drives.
• Limited: This is the most upscale gas trim, with the 10.25-inch touchscreen, navigation, Bose audio, digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and the most premium-feeling cabin. It’s the right choice if you want the richest feature set.

The lower-level SE, SEL, and N Line trims with halogen headlights received a Marginal IIHS headlight rating, while the Limited’s LED headlights earned a Good rating.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Hyundai Elantra?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,591 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.86% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 74.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,844, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $16,862 sits slightly below last year's $17,911.

That softer pricing suggests the Elantra has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you purchase near the lower end of the range and keep the car in strong condition, you may have a better chance of limiting your loss later.

The model’s broad appeal also helps support future demand, especially because shoppers continue to value its fuel economy, safety equipment, and value. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Hyundai Elantra safe?

The 2022 Hyundai Elantra earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall, with four-star ratings in front crash and five-star ratings in side crash and rollover resistance. It also earns top "Good" ratings from IIHS in all six of its individual crash tests.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

The standard SmartSense suite includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning, lane-keeping assistance, lane-departure warning, and lane-centering assistance. Standard equipment also includes driver-attention warning, automatic high-beam headlights, a rear-seat reminder system, and Safe Exit Warning.

Higher trims can add intersection turn assistance, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, rear automatic braking, and Highway Drive Assist. One caveat is that the lower-level SE, SEL, and N Line trims with halogen headlights received a Marginal IIHS headlight rating, while the Limited’s LED headlights earned a Good rating.

Should I buy a 2022 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 74.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines style, efficiency, safety tech, and value in a bargain-priced compact sedan.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $15,431, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $16,862 average.
• It blends style, sophistication, space, and sportiness with strong value.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $18,678, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $16,862 average.
• It offers a broad lineup spanning basic transportation, a hybrid, and a budget sports sedan.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of value, safety, and features, the 2022 is the smart default. If your budget is tighter, the 2021 is the price-sensitive alternative; if you want a broader lineup and don’t mind paying more, the 2023 is worth a look.
