How much does the 2022 Ford Mustang cost?

Prices are up 2.40% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.

There are 1,764 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2022 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Ford Mustang earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its performance, handling, and styling, and many also like the manual transmission option and the fun driving experience it delivers. That makes it a strong fit if you want a sporty coupe or convertible with real enthusiast appeal and enough variety to suit different driving preferences. With 30.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a car that many drivers find dependable and enjoyable over time, especially when it comes to the driving experience and overall ownership satisfaction. Because some buyers note concerns on specific models, condition and maintenance history matter more than usual when you shop used. For long-term ownership, your risk is lower when you focus on well-kept examples with clear service records.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Mustang?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should start with a history report so you can confirm accident status, title status, and prior ownership patterns. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been modified or driven hard. Focus on overall condition, maintenance documentation, and any signs that the car has been used more aggressively than a typical commuter vehicle.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Mustang?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best examples.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,764 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.40% year-over-year.
• Clean inventory: 76.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $30,449, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $34,019 sits slightly above last year's $33,222.

That upward movement suggests the market still values this model year well, which can help support resale strength if you buy carefully. A stable price trend also means you may not see steep depreciation in the near term, especially if you choose a clean, well-maintained example. Strong demand for sporty, enthusiast-focused cars can help keep future buyer interest steady.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 76.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 2.40% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $30,386, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $34,019 average.
• It adds the Mach 1 trim for shoppers who want a broader performance-focused lineup.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better all-around pick if you want stronger current-market support and broad enthusiast appeal. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the smarter value play, especially if you find a clean example with the features you want.
