How much does the 2022 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 9.32% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 4,536 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and body styles.

Is the 2022 Ford Bronco a good car?

Yes — you’re looking at a 4.5/5 model with an expert rating of 8/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners consistently praise its off-road capability, performance, stylish design, comfort, tech features, and spaciousness. The Bronco’s broad appeal also comes through in the way shoppers compare it favorably with Jeep Wranglers.

The main trade-offs are value and equipment packaging: some owners feel it is overpriced, and too many essential features are optional. In practical terms, it fits you best if you want a rugged SUV with real personality and everyday usability rather than a stripped-down trail rig.

Good and great deals account for 35.4% of listings, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle people expect to be dependable over time, with repeated praise for its trouble-free appeal, comfort, and confidence-inspiring capability. The expert evaluation also reinforces that sense of durability by describing the Bronco as well suited to hard use while still behaving well in everyday driving.

Ford’s maintenance perk language is not included here, but the Bronco’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction suggest you should still focus on service history and how the vehicle was used. For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is finding one that was driven hard off-road without proper care.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Ford Bronco?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a rugged SUV like this may have seen trail use even if it looks clean on the surface. Prioritize a thorough inspection of the underbody, suspension, tires, and any signs of water exposure or hard off-road use. Focus on condition and equipment completeness, especially if you want one of the more capable or better-equipped versions.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans seven distinct trims, with off-road capability increasing as you move up the range. Base-trim buyers should pay close attention to feature gaps, since advanced safety features are not standard and many conveniences are bundled into optional packages.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a four-cylinder or six-cylinder engine, and both are turbocharged. The four-cylinder is paired with either a manual or automatic transmission, while the V6 uses an automatic.
• Safety package: Frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams are available on all but the base trim as part of the optional Mid package. Front parking sensors and a surround-view camera system are offered with the High package, while the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.
• Infotainment: The Bronco uses Sync 4 with quick responses, sharp graphics, and off-road apps. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and a wireless charging pad is available.
• Fuel efficiency: The base four-cylinder is estimated at 20 mpg city and 21 mpg highway, while the V6 can drop to 17 mpg combined depending on configuration.

Which 2022 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2022 Ford Bronco is offered in 7 trim levels: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Outer Banks, Badlands, Wildtrak, Everglades.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the entry point, but it still gives you the Bronco’s core off-road character and the broad body-style and engine choices that define the lineup. It makes sense if you want the lowest starting point and plan to add only the equipment you truly need.
• Big Bend: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it moves you beyond the bare minimum without jumping too far up the price ladder. It’s a smart pick if you want a more balanced mix of capability and everyday livability.
• Black Diamond: Choose this if you want a stronger off-road focus than the Big Bend and expect to use the Bronco on rougher terrain more often. It suits buyers who care more about trail readiness than luxury touches.
• Outer Banks: This trim leans more toward comfort and style while still keeping the Bronco’s rugged identity. It’s a good fit if you want a more polished daily driver without giving up the SUV’s core personality.
• Badlands: This is the better choice if you want a more serious off-road setup and are willing to pay for it. It’s aimed at buyers who plan to use the Bronco’s capability more aggressively.
• Wildtrak: This trim is for shoppers who want one of the most capable and well-equipped Broncos without going all the way to the top. It’s a strong option if you want a high-end trail-focused build.
• Everglades: This is the most specialized trim, built for swamp trekking and deep water with additions like an intake snorkel, a Warn winch, and 35-inch mud-terrain tires. It’s the right choice if you want the most distinctive off-road hardware in the lineup.

Advanced safety features are not standard, and several driver-assistance systems are reserved for optional packages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Ford Bronco?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,536 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.32% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 89.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,751, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $36,751 sits slightly below last year's $40,530.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic if the market stays competitive. A model that has already moved down from last year’s average can still hold appeal if it remains desirable and well kept.

Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when you eventually sell. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Ford Bronco safe?

The 2022 Ford Bronco earns Good ratings from IIHS in frontal, side, and roof strength tests, and Acceptable ratings for head restraints and seats. It earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and three-star ratings for rollover protection from NHTSA.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include hill-start assist, hill descent control, and trailer sway control. Frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking sensors, and automatic high beams are available on all but the base trim as part of the optional Mid package. Front parking sensors and a surround-view camera system are offered with the High package, while the Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you need to check trim and package content carefully if safety tech matters to you.

Should I buy a 2022 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 35.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 89.9% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.32% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 model year adds the Everglades and expands the Bronco’s trim roster for more off-road-focused shoppers.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $35,583, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $36,751 average.
• It emphasizes off-road capability, standard four-wheel drive, and a choice of manual or automatic transmissions.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $40,468, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $36,751 average.
• It broadens the lineup to nine distinct models and adds even more configuration flexibility.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of current-year value, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2022 is the primary path to consider. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2021 can save you money while still delivering the Bronco’s core appeal.

How does the 2022 Ford Bronco compare to the 2022 Jeep Wrangler?

Expert Pros & Cons (per CarGurus review team)

2022 Ford Bronco:

• Pros: Incredible off-road capabilities, Multiple body styles, Plenty of cargo space.
• Cons: Advanced safety features are not standard, Middling safety scores.

2022 Jeep Wrangler:

• Pros: Multiple powertrain options, Fun to drive, Impressive off-road capability.
• Cons: Poor fuel economy, Poor ride quality, Unimpressive safety ratings.

Our experts score the 2022 Ford Bronco 8/10 and the 2022 Jeep Wrangler 5.5/10. The Bronco is the better all-around choice if you want off-road ability without giving up as much on-road comfort. The Wrangler still appeals if you want more powertrain variety and don’t mind its weaker ride and safety reputation. The Bronco also stands out for its cargo space and multiple body styles, while the Wrangler’s strengths are more narrowly focused on trail use.
