Used 2021 Toyota Tundra for Sale nearSanta Fe, NM

How much does the 2021 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 1.04% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,912 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of trucks to compare.

Is the 2021 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2021 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.55/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its spacious cabin, powerful performance, and reliability, and they also call out the smooth ride and solid construction. The Tundra’s straightforward layout and comfortable feel fit you well if you want a full-size pickup that prioritizes durability and everyday usability over the latest trends.

The main trade-offs are limited bed and cab configurations and outdated technology compared with newer rivals. Even so, the Tundra’s practical appeal is strongest if you want a proven truck with a long-running formula rather than a cutting-edge redesign.

Only 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market still rewards careful shopping.

Is the 2021 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.55/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners describe it as reliable, durable, and trouble-free, with repeated praise for its long-term dependability and solid construction. The expert evaluation also emphasizes that the truck’s traditional powertrain and straightforward hardware contribute to a dependable feel, and the cost-effectiveness notes reinforce that Toyota kept the model relevant without overcomplicating it.

If you’re buying used, the biggest ownership risk is that age-related wear can matter more than the truck’s reputation, so condition and maintenance history should carry extra weight.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Toyota Tundra?

At 73.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you’re considering a higher-mileage truck or one with off-road or towing use. Focus on signs of body repair, interior wear, and evidence of hard use, since those factors can matter more than the Tundra’s general reputation for durability.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SR is the most basic version, with halogen headlights with LED accents, steel wheels, manual climate control, cloth seating, and fewer convenience features than higher trims. The SR5 adds power-adjustable front seats and a larger touchscreen, while the Limited brings a more upscale cabin with leather upholstery and dual-zone climate control.
• Powertrain: The 2021 Tundra uses a 5.7-liter V8 with 391 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is standard, and four-wheel drive with low range is available.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense P is standard, with forward-collision warning and avoidance, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. Blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors are optional, so some trucks will be better equipped than others.
• Infotainment: A standard 7-inch touchscreen includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, USB ports, and a WiFi hotspot trial. An available 8-inch touchscreen adds navigation, and the SR5 upgrades to a larger screen.
• Fuel efficiency: The rear-wheel-drive model returns 13 mpg city, 17 highway, and 15 combined, while the four-wheel-drive version returns 13 mpg city, 17 highway, and 14 combined.

Which 2021 Toyota Tundra trim should I buy?

The 2021 Toyota Tundra is offered in 6 trim levels: SR, SR5, Limited, TRD Pro, Platinum, and 1794 Edition.

Here's the short version:

• SR: This is the value-focused entry point, and it gives you the basics without much extra equipment. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the Tundra and don’t need many comfort upgrades.
• SR5: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds power-adjustable front seats and a larger touchscreen without jumping too far in price. If you want a more livable daily driver, this is the trim to start with.
• Limited: This is the trim to choose if you want the most balanced mix of comfort and convenience. It adds 20-inch wheels, dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, and a 10-way power driver’s seat, making it the easiest trim to recommend for most buyers.
• TRD Pro: This is the off-road-focused choice, with a 2-inch lift, Fox off-road shock absorbers, all-terrain tires, beefed-up skid plates, and a TRD exhaust. It suits you best if you want the most rugged version of the Tundra.
• Platinum: This is the upscale pick, with heated-and-ventilated front seats, chrome heated power-folding mirrors, and more premium interior trim. Choose it if comfort and appearance matter more than value.
• 1794 Edition: This shares much of the Platinum’s content but adds unique visual and interior touches. It’s the right choice if you want a more distinctive luxury-leaning Tundra.

Toyota Safety Sense P is standard across the lineup, while blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and parking sensors remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Toyota Tundra?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,912 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.04% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $36,595, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $38,756 sits slightly below last year's $39,164.

That modest decline suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper short-term resale gains if you plan to sell soon. The current pricing trend also shows that the Tundra is holding value reasonably well for a used full-size truck, especially given its strong owner satisfaction and durable reputation.

If you keep the truck in clean condition and maintain it well, you should be in a better position to preserve value when it’s time to sell. Trucks with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.55/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Toyota Tundra safe?

The 2021 Toyota Tundra earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense P is standard, and it includes forward-collision warning and avoidance, pedestrian detection, lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, and adaptive cruise control. Every Tundra also comes with eight airbags, tire pressure monitoring, trailer sway control, and an integrated trailer brake controller.

Optional equipment includes front and rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert, so you may want to prioritize a better-equipped truck if those features matter to you. The Tundra’s safety story is strongest when you find one with the full suite of available driver aids.

Should I buy a 2021 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 34.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.55/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the old-school V8 formula while adding modern infotainment and standard safety tech.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $36,657, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $38,756 average.
• It emphasizes long-term reliability and bulletproof durability.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $38,388, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $38,756 average.
• It brings a full redesign with major updates and more flexibility.

The bottom line: If you want the familiar V8 Tundra with modernized tech and a softer used price, the 2021 is the most straightforward choice. If your priority is saving money, the 2020 is the better value play; if you want a major redesign, the 2022 is the path to consider.
