Summary
With 809 currently listed for sale and an average price of $27,927, 33.5% of 2021 Honda Ridgelines for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.

Why it stands out
The 2021 Honda Ridgeline stands out by bringing a hefty dose of truck personality to a midsize crew cab pickup. Honda’s styling, packaging, and functionality changes give it a more truck-like appearance, which helps it appeal to buyers who want a pickup that looks the part without giving up the Ridgeline’s familiar approach to everyday usability. Its stylish design is one of its clear strengths, and the truck also earns praise for its powerful engine and great handling.
That appeal is balanced by some practical limitations. The 2021 Honda Ridgeline offers no alternate bed or cab configurations, and its towing and payload capacities are limited. Even so, it remains distinctive for shoppers who value comfort, a smooth driving experience, and a spacious interior in a pickup, along with the Ridgeline’s innovative truck bed and cargo space.

This is a great design for someone who needs a truck but not a 1/2 ton pickup. I am very happy with the way it drives and the technology that is included. I haven’t towed anything with it yet but I am confident that it will do what I need. I bought the RTL model because it had leather interior and a Sirius radio. II guess the most direct comparison will be the Hyundai Santa Cruz or the Ford Marverick. However it is more capable in many woes over those two models.

Love the features of this truck. Drives nice and comfortable. My first truck and it was a simple process to find it through CarGurus!

2021 Ridgeline RTL-E - Loaded with great features and very comfortable to drive. Great visibility. Lots of cargo space. Drives like a big car. Great for winter driving with AWD. This is my second Ridgeline. Drove a 2013 for 10 years. Loved it. Loving this one too. Perfect for someone who wants a truck but doesnt need the size of something like a F250.

I decided on the Honda Ridgeline. I have to say, in terms of refinement, sophistication, features, driveability, interior space, etc., Honda is light years ahead of the competition [Tacoma, Ranger and Canyon/Colorado]. The Tacoma and Ranger were pretty similar, but I think Ford upped their game lately – more so than Toyota. The GMC/Chev trucks are bottom of the barrel, not worth considering. I would concede that – if someone is looking first and foremost for serious off-roading features/capability, trucks along the lines of the Tacoma will top of their list. However, for me -- valuing year round city/highway driveability over off-roading adventures -- the Ridgeline makes a lot of sense.

| Year-Round Low | $27,165 |
| Year-Round High | $29,218 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $29,216 |

There are 802 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.
Is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline a good car?
Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7/10 expert rating.
The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.
Owners consistently praise its comfort, ride quality, smooth driving experience, spacious interior, and innovative truck bed and cargo space. Those themes line up with the Ridgeline’s everyday-usability focus, especially if you want a pickup that feels easy to live with. The main trade-offs are limited towing and payload capacity, along with no alternate bed or cab configurations.
With 30.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
Owner feedback points to a reliable, dependable, trouble-free truck that many people feel confident living with over the long term. The expert drive notes also emphasize a refined, smooth, and capable powertrain that feels well suited to daily use. Honda’s maintenance coverage language is not included here, so your best move is to focus on service records and overall condition.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the truck has been maintained well and used within its limits.
What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Honda Ridgeline?
Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
You should still check the vehicle history report carefully, because accident-free status is only one part of the picture. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on the truck’s condition, especially if you plan to use it for hauling or frequent family duty. Pay close attention to signs of heavy wear, uneven tire wear, and any evidence that the truck has been pushed beyond its intended use.

- Trim level: Sport trim is the only one with cloth seats, and it comes only in black with a subtle pattern for the inserts. The cabin emphasizes functionality, with generous storage and hard plastic surfaces that are easy to clean.
- Powertrain: Every Ridgeline has a 280-horsepower V6, a nine-speed automatic transmission, and standard torque-vectoring all-wheel drive with Intelligent Variable Torque Management. It also includes Snow, Sand, and Mud settings, but it is not a rock-crawling off-roader.
- Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and lane-centering assistance. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning is standard for all but the Ridgeline Sport, and the top trims include automatic high-beam headlights.
- Infotainment: Every Ridgeline gets an 8-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a seven-speaker sound system, text-messaging capability, basic HondaLink connected services, and USB charging ports. Higher trims add SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, navigation, voice recognition, traffic information, a premium sound system, and wireless smartphone charging.
- Fuel efficiency: No fuel-economy figure is stated here.
Which 2021 Honda Ridgeline trim should I buy?
The 2021 Honda Ridgeline is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, RTL, RTL-E, and Black Edition.
Here's the short version:
- Sport: This is the entry point, and it still gives you the core Ridgeline formula: the V6, standard all-wheel drive, the 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Honda Sensing. It makes sense if you want the least expensive way into the model and can live without the extra comfort and tech upgrades.
- RTL: This is the trim to target if you want the best balance of equipment and value. It adds more comfort and convenience than Sport, while also unlocking more of the Ridgeline’s upscale feel without jumping all the way to the top trims.
- RTL-E: This trim is for you if you want a more fully equipped Ridgeline with more of the tech and convenience features that make daily use easier. It suits shoppers who plan to keep the truck longer and want a richer ownership experience.
- Black Edition: This is the most premium-looking version, aimed at buyers who want the most distinctive appearance and the fullest feature set. It makes the most sense if you want the top-end Ridgeline experience and are willing to pay for it.
Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning is standard for all but the Ridgeline Sport, and the top trims include automatic high-beam headlights.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Honda Ridgeline?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.
- Deal availability: 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 802 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.71% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 79.1% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $27,165, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline's resale value?
The current average of $27,840 sits slightly below last year's $29,216.
That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favorable point, but it also suggests the truck has already absorbed some of its near-term depreciation. If you plan to resell later, the Ridgeline’s value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well it has been maintained. A clean history and strong equipment mix should help it stay more appealing to future shoppers.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2021 Honda Ridgeline safe?
The 2021 Ridgeline does not have new crash-test results cited here.
It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.
Honda Sensing is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, and lane-centering assistance. The truck also has a multi-angle reversing camera, while blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic warning is standard on all but the Sport trim. One caution from the test drive is that the adaptive cruise control can react too aggressively in some traffic situations, so you should stay attentive even with the driver-assistance systems engaged.
Should I buy a 2021 Honda Ridgeline or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2021 if:
- 30.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Accident-free inventory is solid at 79.1% — always verify the vehicle history report.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.71% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It brings a refreshed, more truck-like look while keeping the Ridgeline’s everyday usability.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $25,711, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $27,840 average.
- It blends comfort with superior driving dynamics.
Consider the 2022 if:
- At $29,657, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $27,840 average.
- It carries over the refined, comfortable formula with a proven setup.
The bottom line: If you want the refreshed styling and current-year pricing balance, the 2021 is the smart default. If your priority is saving money, the 2020 is the better value play. If you want to spend more for a newer model-year alternative, the 2022 is the next step up.
