Used 2021 GMC Yukon for Sale nearNew Bern, NC

How much does the 2021 GMC Yukon cost?

Prices have softened 14.42% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,393 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of used Yukons to compare.

Is the 2021 GMC Yukon a good car?

Yes — 5/5 owners’ rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the expert rating is 7.67/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Technology, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise the luxurious feel, spacious interior, and impressive tech features. The ride is described as extremely comfortable, and many owners say it stands out in its class. In use-case terms, that lines up well if you want a large SUV that prioritizes family comfort, third-row space, and a premium-feeling cabin.

The main trade-offs are a poor fuel-economy story and some cabin-quality complaints from the test drive, including uncomfortable seats and interior materials that feel cheap. Even so, the market still shows 40.9% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2021 GMC Yukon reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with owners describing the Yukon as a vehicle they really enjoy living with over time. The expert drive notes reinforce that sense of durability and confidence by emphasizing the SUV’s robust powertrain and capable road manners.

The redesign also adds modern convenience and maintenance-friendly ownership touches, including over-the-air updates and connected services that help keep the vehicle current. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a large, feature-rich SUV can become expensive to live with if prior maintenance was skipped.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 GMC Yukon?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the history report carefully, because a clean listing percentage does not replace documentation. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on seat comfort, cabin wear, and how the electronics and driver-assistance features operate. It also makes sense to pay close attention to fuel-economy expectations and whether the truck has the equipment you want for daily use.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali each bring a different feel, with the Denali standing out for its exclusive dashboard design, real wood trim, leather-wrapped panels, unique stitching and piping, and panoramic sunroof when equipped with the Ultimate Package. The AT4 is the off-road-focused choice with an improved approach angle, skid plates, and all-terrain tires, while the SLT and Denali add more upscale content than the lower trims.
• Powertrain: You get a standard 355-horsepower 5.3-liter V8 on all but the Denali, while the Denali uses a 420-horsepower 6.2-liter V8. A 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline six-cylinder is also mentioned as an option for most versions, and the 6.2-liter delivers strong acceleration but weak fuel economy.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, daytime pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking below 50 mph, automatic high-beam headlights, Teen Driver, a rear-seat reminder, and OnStar crash response and crisis assistance. Starting with SLT, you also get blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance, while rear pedestrian alert is standard on Denali and available on SLT and AT4. Adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic emergency braking are reserved for Denali.
• Infotainment: Every 2021 Yukon gets a 10.2-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Amazon Alexa integration, over-the-air updates, and access to connected services. Available upgrades include wireless device charging, navigation, a 14-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system, and a rear-seat media system with dual 12.6-inch displays.
• Fuel efficiency: The 6.2-liter V8 with 4WD is EPA-rated at 14 mpg city, 19 highway, and 16 combined, and the test drive returned 14.4 mpg on one loop and 16.2 mpg on another. The expert notes also say fuel economy is not this engine’s strong suit.

Which 2021 GMC Yukon trim should I buy?

The 2021 GMC Yukon is offered in 4 trim levels: SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali.

Here's the short version:

• SLE: This is the entry point, so it makes the most sense if you want the Yukon’s space, power, and standard tech without paying for luxury extras. It gives you the core full-size SUV experience, but you miss the richer cabin materials and added convenience features found higher up.
• SLT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more upscale feel and unlocks important safety content, including blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic warning, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assistance. If you want a more complete family SUV without jumping to Denali pricing, this is the trim to target.
• AT4: Choose this if you want the Yukon’s more adventurous side, since it adds the off-road-oriented hardware and tires. It is the right pick if your priorities lean toward rougher terrain rather than maximum luxury.
• Denali: This is the luxury choice, with the exclusive dashboard design, richer materials, standard rear pedestrian alert, and access to adaptive cruise control and enhanced automatic emergency braking. It also gets the stronger 6.2-liter V8, so it suits you if you want the most premium and most powerful Yukon.

The safety package starts with basic driver aids on lower trims, but Denali is the one that adds the most advanced standard safety content.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 GMC Yukon?

It’s a buyer-friendly moment if you’re shopping carefully and comparing listings.

• Deal availability: 40.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,393 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.42% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $41,757, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 GMC Yukon's resale value?

The current average of $41,757 sits slightly below last year's $48,795.

That drop suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and equipment because the model has already moved off its prior-year pricing peak.

Strong demand can still support resale if your Yukon is well kept and well equipped. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 GMC Yukon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 40.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesign brings more passenger space, more cargo room, and a major technology upgrade.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $46,614, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $41,757 average.
• It adds a standard 12-inch driver information center and enhanced connectivity.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2021 if you want the redesigned Yukon at a lower price and with strong market availability. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer model-year update and don’t mind the higher average price, the 2022 is the better alternative. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2021 is the smarter starting point.
