How much does the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E cost?

Prices have softened 9.11% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 489 listings available, which gives you a meaningful pool to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E a good car?

Yes — it earns 4.78/5 from owners and 7.83/10 from our experts. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise its stylish design, impressive performance, and advanced technology, and they also call out the comfortable interior and user-friendly features. The main trade-offs are charging-related concerns and some software issues, while the overview frames it as a performance-minded electric crossover that aims to blend Mustang identity with EV practicality for a broad audience. Even with those compromises, the market still shows 39.3% good or great deals, which suggests you can shop with some leverage.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E reliable?

Owners rate it 4.78/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise centered on the car’s comfortable, user-friendly nature and the kind of day-to-day usability that helps a vehicle feel trouble-free over time. The expert drive notes that the adaptive cruise control kept pace with traffic reliably, and its automated lane centering was one of the smoothest in a mainstream vehicle. Ford also says the car includes over-the-air update capability, which can help keep software current, and the launch setup includes hardware for Active Drive Assist that can be added later via software. For used buyers, the biggest long-term ownership risk is making sure any charging or software concerns have been addressed before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on any candidate and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been used heavily for fast charging or has any signs of software-related quirks. Focus on overall condition, charging behavior, and whether the cabin and controls feel as expected in daily use. If you’re comparing multiple listings, pay close attention to equipment differences because some features are trim-dependent.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin uses a minimalist layout with a massive touchscreen, a 10.2-inch instrument display, and decent-quality materials, but some buyers may be disappointed by the lack of a leather-upholstery option in this price range. Even the top trim levels use synthetic ActiveX material, and the First Edition adds unique cosmetic touches rather than major hardware changes.
• Powertrain: The Mach-E is offered with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and the base RWD Select makes 266 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. The AWD setup in the test car delivered 346 hp and 428 lb-ft, while the GT Performance Edition reaches 480 hp and 634 lb-ft.
• Safety package: Standard driver-assist features include automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, post-collision braking, a reverse sensing system, reverse automatic braking, adaptive cruise control with automated lane centering, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist. A 360-degree camera system is standard on higher trim levels, and Active Drive Assist is standard on the California Route 1, Premium, and First Edition trim levels.
• Infotainment: The Mach-E uses Sync 4 with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, OTA software updates, a 15.5-inch touchscreen, and a 10.2-inch instrument cluster. SiriusXM 360L and a six-speaker audio system are standard, while Premium, GT, and First Edition models get a nine-speaker B&O system.
• Range & charging: The Standard Range battery pack is rated at 230 miles with RWD and 211 miles with AWD, while the Extended Range pack is rated at 300 miles with RWD and 270 miles with AWD. DC fast charging peaks at 150 kilowatts, and Ford says 10% to 80% charging can take 38 minutes.
• Battery health: On a used EV, you should check battery state-of-health, confirm how the car has typically been charged, and make sure the battery warranty still has meaningful coverage left. Home charging is generally easier on the battery than repeated DC fast charging, so ask how the car was used and whether charging habits match the mileage and age.

Which 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E trim should I buy?

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E is offered in 4 trim levels: Select, California Route 1, Premium, and GT.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core Mach-E experience with the base RWD powertrain and the standard safety and tech features. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest starting price and are comfortable adding options selectively.
• California Route 1: This trim is a strong fit if you want more range-focused positioning and standard Active Drive Assist without jumping all the way to the top of the lineup. It’s a good middle path for shoppers who want more capability than the base trim.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it pairs the more desirable equipment mix with the stronger feature set, and the test car shared its powertrain with this trim. It also gets the upgraded audio system and standard Active Drive Assist.
• GT: Choose this if you want the most performance-oriented version, since it sits at the top of the lineup and brings the most potent powertrain. It’s the trim for buyers who care most about acceleration and the sportiest character.

A safety-package note: Active Drive Assist is standard on the California Route 1, Premium, and First Edition trim levels, and it is part of a package on the Select trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 489 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 84.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,801, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E's resale value?

The current average of $23,053 sits slightly below last year's $25,364.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may temper what you can expect later as a seller. If you buy at the right price now, you reduce the risk of taking a bigger depreciation hit than necessary. The model’s strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, but resale will still depend on condition, mileage, and equipment.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.78/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E safe?

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard driver-assistance features include automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, post-collision braking, a reverse sensing system, reverse automatic braking, adaptive cruise control with automated lane centering, traffic-sign recognition, and evasive steering assist. A 360-degree camera system is also standard on higher trim levels, and Active Drive Assist is standard on the California Route 1, Premium, and First Edition trim levels. Because it just launched, crash-test ratings from NHTSA and IIHS aren’t available yet for the Mach-E.

Should I buy a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

• 39.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 84.3% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.78/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2021 model stands out as Ford’s first mass-market EV and the first production Mustang with more than two doors, which gives it a distinctive place in the lineup.

The 2021 is the right choice if you want the original launch-year Mach-E experience at a softer price and with plenty of inventory to compare. If you’re especially price-sensitive, focus on the best-condition examples near the low end of the range; if you want the most polished ownership experience, it’s worth comparing carefully against later model years before you decide.
