Used 2021 BMW 8 Series for Sale nearAtlanta, GA

How much does the 2021 BMW 8 Series cost?

Prices have softened 8.20% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 251 listings available, which suggests you should have some room to compare prices and equipment.

Is the 2021 BMW 8 Series a good car?

Generally — the 2021 BMW 8 Series earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 7.8/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

It is aimed at buyers who want a luxury car that makes a statement, and the overview backs that up with its stylish design and upscale positioning. The expert review also highlights impressive technology and strong driving dynamics, so you get more than just a flashy badge.

The trade-offs are real: the back seat is cramped, visibility is poor, and a manual transmission is not available. That makes it best for you if style, performance, and luxury matter more than everyday practicality.

Only 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective rather than deeply discounted.

Is the 2021 BMW 8 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview presents it as a luxury car with real substance, and the expert review reinforces that with strong performance and a polished, high-end feel. The performance write-up describes the car as calm, composed, and easy to drive even when you push it, which supports the idea of a well-sorted ownership experience.

BMW also includes driver-monitoring and collision-preparation functions as part of its standard safety setup, which adds confidence for daily use. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a high-end car with complex systems can become expensive if prior maintenance was neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2021 BMW 8 Series?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still check the vehicle history report carefully and prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on a car with this level of technology and performance hardware. Focus on overall condition, signs of wear in the cabin, and whether the car’s equipment works as intended.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The available body styles include coupe, convertible, and four-door sedan (Gran Coupe), and the base setup already emphasizes style and luxury. The review also notes that the Gran Coupe is remarkably roomy inside, while the overall lineup still carries the cramped-back-seat drawback that matters if you plan to use rear seating often.
• Powertrain: The review highlights a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 with xDrive all-wheel drive in M850i specification, along with a quick-shifting automatic transmission and multiple drive modes. It also notes strong acceleration, rear-biased AWD behavior, and a ride that stays composed even when driven hard.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, low-speed automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and Active Guard. Available upgrades add active blind-spot monitoring, surround-view camera, parking sensors, semi-autonomous parking assistance, and the Driving Assistance Professional Package with adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, lane-centering, lane-changing assistance, evasive-steering assistance, and front and rear cross-traffic warning systems.
• Infotainment: The car uses iDrive 7.0 with a 10.25-inch touchscreen and supports touch, voice, gestures, and physical controls. It also includes smartphone connectivity, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, connected services with a WiFi hotspot, and remote engine starting.
• Fuel efficiency: The review says the M850i xDrive Gran Coupe averaged 17.8 mpg on the evaluation loop, and it also notes that it fell short of the official EPA combined rating of 20 mpg.

Which 2021 BMW 8 Series trim should I buy?

The 2021 BMW 8 Series is offered in 1 trim level: M850i xDrive.

Here's the short version:

The M850i xDrive is the clear choice if you want the strongest performance and the most complete luxury experience described in the review. It brings the twin-turbo V8, xDrive all-wheel drive, and the high-end driving character that define the car, so it suits you best if you want the 8 Series at its most expressive.

The safety package note is straightforward: standard driver-assistance features are solid, but the more advanced lane-centering, lane-changing, and evasive-steering functions require the Driving Assistance Professional Package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2021 BMW 8 Series?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 251 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.20% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 78.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $45,832, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2021 BMW 8 Series's resale value?

The current average of $46,055 sits slightly below last year's $50,171.

That decline suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the car in strong condition, because premium cars tend to reward clean history and careful ownership.

The current pricing also shows that this model year is not in a rising-price phase, so your resale outcome will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and equipment. Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2021 BMW 8 Series safe?

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, low-speed automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and Active Guard. That setup also adds driver monitoring, collision-preparation functions, automatic seatbelt tightening, automatic window closure, and post-collision braking.

Available upgrades include active blind-spot monitoring, semi-autonomous parking assistance, a surround-view camera system, parking sensors, and the Driving Assistance Professional Package. That package adds adaptive cruise control with lane-keeping, lane-centering, lane-changing assistance, evasive-steering assistance, and front and rear cross-traffic warning systems.

The review also notes that the speed limit-assisted adaptive cruise control can be distracting to override, and the Steering Assistant is not a hands-free system. That means the advanced tech is impressive, but you should still stay engaged behind the wheel.

Should I buy a 2021 BMW 8 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 78.5% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The year stands out for its stylish design, powerful engine, and impressive technology.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $39,339, the 2020 costs less than the current year's $46,055 average.
• It is described as a modern take on a flagship luxury car with a clear grand touring focus.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of inventory, pricing, and feature-rich luxury, the 2021 is the better primary target. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2020 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the core grand touring appeal.
