Is the 2024 BMW 8 Series a good car?

Yes — the 2024 BMW 8 Series earns a 5/5 user rating, which supports its appeal as a luxury grand tourer. The overview points to a car that blends strong performance with a polished, tech-rich cabin, and it is aimed at buyers who want something upscale and athletic at the same time. It also emphasizes a comfortable but sporty ride and handling, plus a broad set of equipment that adds to the sense of occasion. Is the 2024 BMW 8 Series reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a car built around premium comfort, strong performance, and a well-equipped cabin, which can make it feel reassuringly complete for daily use and road trips. At the same time, the car’s expensive options and high depreciation mean you should think carefully about total ownership costs before buying.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic appeal and more about paying for complexity and premium upkeep over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 BMW 8 Series?

Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.

You should still run a history report on every candidate, even if the listing looks clean at first glance. Prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that focuses on condition, electronics, and any signs of expensive wear. Because this model is loaded with technology and premium features, you want to make sure everything works as intended before you commit.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 BMW 8 Series?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 284 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.67% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $65,660, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 BMW 8 Series's resale value?

The current average of $65,660 sits slightly below last year's $71,891.

That price movement suggests the market has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right entry point. If you purchase near the lower end of the current range, you may reduce the amount of value lost over your ownership period. Strong demand for well-kept examples can also help support pricing when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 BMW 8 Series or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 87.7% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $58,665, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $65,660 average.
• It adds small updates and more personalization options.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of pricing, inventory, and buyer satisfaction, the 2024 is the better starting point. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the same core grand touring appeal.
