At 73.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of past bodywork or uneven wear before you decide.

That softer pricing suggests the market has moved in buyers’ favor, which can make future resale a little more competitive for you as an owner. Should I buy a 2020 Nissan Kicks or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.62/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $12,019, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $13,245 average.
• It emphasizes efficiency and affordability with standard advanced safety features.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $14,467, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $13,245 average.
• It adds more features while keeping the same budget-friendly crossover appeal.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the best all-around pick if you want a balance of value, owner satisfaction, and current market pricing. If your priority is spending less, the 2019 is the better budget path; if you want more features and can pay more, the 2021 is the upgrade to compare.
