How much does the 2020 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 10.02% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,960 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and trims.

Is the 2020 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Kia Sorento earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. The overview shows a practical midsize-SUV-like family hauler with improved size, interior quality, and passenger room, plus a more accommodating third row than earlier versions. It also balances practicality, features, and value, with a polished cabin and useful family-friendly equipment. With 33.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2020 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests a well-rounded SUV that improved in size, interior quality, and passenger room over the generation, while also offering useful safety and convenience features. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the vehicle has been maintained well enough to preserve that family-hauler value over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Kia Sorento?

At 67% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any listing that looks especially attractive on price. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the interior and third-row seating show the kind of wear you’d expect from family use.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Kia Sorento?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop with some leverage if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,960 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.02% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,098, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $15,161 sits slightly below last year's $16,849.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. A clean history and strong presentation should matter more when you eventually list it again.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $13,797, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $15,161 average.
• It offers a stylish, luxurious feel with strong family appeal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $20,232, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $15,161 average.
• It brings a redesigned body with standard advanced safety features.

The bottom line: The 2020 is the best fit if you want a well-liked, value-oriented Sorento with a lower entry price than the redesigned 2021. If your priority is saving money, the 2019 is the better secondary path; if you want newer design and more standard tech, the 2021 is worth the extra spend.
