How much does the 2020 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 10.47% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,965 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2020 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — the 2020 Kia Sorento earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview shows a practical midsize-SUV-like family hauler with improved size, interior quality, and passenger room, plus a more accommodating third row than earlier versions. It also balances practicality, features, and value, with a polished cabin and useful family-focused equipment, though the third row is still best for occasional use rather than regular adult seating. With 31.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2020 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The overview points to a model that had already benefited from improvements in size, cabin quality, and passenger room, while also offering a broad spread of powertrains over the generation. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been maintained well and still suits your needs, especially if you plan to use the third row often.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Kia Sorento?

At 67.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of inconsistent wear, then make sure the cabin and third-row seating still meet your family needs. Because this model is valued for practicality and interior quality, condition matters a lot when you compare similar listings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,965 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.47% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 67.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $15,024, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $15,024 sits slightly below last year's $16,782.

That price movement suggests the Sorento has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you keep the vehicle in strong condition and avoid accident history, you may be better positioned when it comes time to resell. Demand should also benefit from the model’s practical layout and family-friendly reputation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 31.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $13,676, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $15,024 average.
• It offers a stylish, upscale feel with strong family appeal.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $20,075, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $15,024 average.
• It brings a redesigned package with modern styling and standard advanced safety features.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of value and owner satisfaction, the 2020 is the primary pick. If your budget is tighter, the 2019 is the better price-first alternative, while the 2021 makes sense if you want the newer redesign and can stretch for it.
