Used 2020 GMC Acadia for Sale nearDallas, TX

How much does the 2020 GMC Acadia cost?

Prices have softened 10.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,694 listings available, which suggests you have a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2020 GMC Acadia a good car?

Yes — the 2020 GMC Acadia earns a 4.94/5 user rating and a 7.00/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Technology.

Drivers consistently praise the smooth and quiet ride, the spacious interior, and the impressive features. The roomy third row and easy-to-use technology also come through as recurring strengths, especially if you want a family-friendly SUV that feels comfortable on road trips.

The main trade-offs are that advanced safety features are not standard and performance is fairly pedestrian. That lines up with the Acadia’s role as a practical three-row crossover rather than a standout performance SUV.

With its approachable tech and family-oriented layout, it fits best if you want comfort, space, and convenience more than excitement. Good and great deals account for 33.0% of listings, so there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 GMC Acadia reliable?

Owners rate it 4.94/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with drivers highlighting comfort, smooth operation, and a vehicle they feel good about living with over time. The expert evaluation also describes the Acadia as a fundamentally good SUV with agreeable manners and a refined powertrain setup.

GMC also includes the first scheduled maintenance visit at no charge, which helps soften early ownership costs a bit. For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the vehicle was maintained well and equipped with the features you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 GMC Acadia?

At 68.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if you are considering a higher-mileage example or one with visible cosmetic wear. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and whether the equipment you want is actually present, since safety and convenience features vary by trim.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Acadia comes in SL, SLE, SLT, new rugged AT4, and luxurious Denali trim levels. Base versions are more basic, while Denali adds leather upholstery, open-pore wood trim, and a more upscale cabin presentation.
• Powertrain: Lower trims use a 193-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. SLT gets a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder with 230 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque, while AT4 and Denali use a 310-hp 3.6-liter V6. All pair with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
• Safety package: Blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic warning are standard from the base Acadia SL up. Forward collision warning and low-speed automatic emergency braking require SLT or AT4 at minimum, and the Driver Alert Package adds lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, pedestrian braking, parking sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and a head-up display. Enhanced automatic emergency braking is exclusive to Denali.
• Infotainment: Every 2020 Acadia includes Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and GMC Connected Services with a 4G LTE WiFi hotspot. Versions with an 8-inch touchscreen add a higher-resolution display, a simplified user experience, and improved voice recognition.
• Fuel efficiency: The test vehicle returned 21 mpg in combined driving, and the powertrain includes automatic engine stop/start and cylinder deactivation to help improve fuel economy.

Which 2020 GMC Acadia trim should I buy?

The 2020 GMC Acadia is offered in 5 trim levels: SL, SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali.

Here's the short version:

• SL: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the Acadia’s core space and tech without paying for extras. It gets the standard blind-spot warning and rear cross-traffic warning, but you give up the more advanced driver-assistance features that arrive higher up the range.
• SLE: This trim keeps the Acadia affordable while still giving you the same basic family-friendly layout and easy-to-use infotainment. It is the sensible step up if you want a little more equipment without chasing luxury or off-road character.
• SLT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it unlocks the turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and can be paired with more advanced safety equipment. If you want the strongest balance of features, power, and everyday usability, this is the one to target.
• AT4: Choose this if you want the rugged personality and the exclusive dual-clutch AWD system, plus all-terrain tires. It is the trim for buyers who care more about capability and appearance than maximum value.
• Denali: This is the luxury pick, with the V6, upscale cabin touches, and exclusive enhanced automatic emergency braking. It suits you best if you want the most premium Acadia experience and are willing to pay for it.

Safety-package features are not fully standard across the lineup, so pay close attention to trim and option content before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 GMC Acadia?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right listing.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,694 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.78% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 68.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $20,090, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 GMC Acadia's resale value?

The current average of $20,090 sits slightly below last year's $22,517.

That decline suggests the Acadia has softened in the used market, which can be a mixed signal for future resale. On one hand, it means you may be buying at a more favorable point than last year. On the other hand, it also suggests the model may not be holding value as strongly as some rivals.

For a future seller, that means condition, trim choice, and equipment will matter a lot when it is time to trade or list the vehicle. Well-equipped examples with strong presentation should be easier to move than stripped or poorly maintained ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.94/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 GMC Acadia safe?

The 2020 Acadia earns five-star ratings in most NHTSA assessments, plus a four-star rollover resistance rating. The IIHS gives the SUV high marks in the tests it has completed, though its data is incomplete for headlight performance and front-passenger small overlap frontal protection.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes rear-seat reminder, Teen Driver technology, automatic collision notification, SOS emergency calling, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic warning. Forward collision warning and low-speed automatic emergency braking require SLT or AT4 at minimum, and the Driver Alert Package adds lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assistance, pedestrian braking, parking sensors, automatic high-beam headlights, and a head-up display.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard, so you need to shop carefully if driver assistance matters to you. That makes trim selection especially important for safety-minded used buyers.

Should I buy a 2020 GMC Acadia or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 68.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.94/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 refresh adds bolder styling, a new AT4 trim, a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, a nine-speed automatic, and updated technology.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $17,208, the 2019 costs less than the current year's $20,090 average.
• It feels more upscale than many rivals while still offering family-friendly versatility.

The bottom line: If you want the newer styling, updated tech, and broader trim and powertrain choices, the 2020 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2019 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one in strong condition with the equipment you want.
