For 2020, the Silverado 3500HD stands taller, longer, and wider. It competes with the Ford F-350 Super Duty and the Ram 3500. Shoppers of the Silverado 3500HD can select from one of two V8 engines. The gas-powered 6.6-liter V8 engine makes 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, delivering an increase of 11 percent in horsepower and 22 percent in torque. It pairs with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Buyers can also select a Duramax turbo-diesel 6.6-liter V8, which makes 445 horsepower and 910 pound-feet of torque. This engine routes power through a new 10-speed Allison transmission. With both engines, power is sent to the rear wheels or available four-wheel drive (4WD) with low range. Three cab types are available for the 2020 Silverado 3500HD: regular cab, double cab, and crew cab. The regular cab is a one-row, single-cab version, the double cab is an extended cab with real doors, and the crew cab is a full 4-door, 2-row version.
