CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Summary
With 292 currently listed for sale and an average price of $21,656.00, 33.2% of 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrids for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid 5 / 5 stars.
63.7% of 2019 Camry Hybrid models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid stands out as part of the third-generation Camry Hybrid, which was introduced in 2017 as a model in the eighth-generation Toyota Camry range. For this generation, Toyota gave the Camry a more upscale feel and a different look, including a “fastback” rear end, a slightly lower roofline, and a longer, wider body. The interior also moved in a more adventurous direction, with a curvy dashboard and a high-tech center console, while still keeping the Camry’s core strengths of affordability, practicality, and ease of ownership.
For 2019, the Camry Hybrid used a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor to make 208 horsepower, sending power to the front wheels through a CVT. EPA combined fuel economy ranged from 46-52 mpg, depending on spec. The hybrid was offered in three trims: Hybrid LE, Hybrid SE, and Hybrid XLE. Standard equipment on the Hybrid LE included LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, a rear-view camera, heated front seats, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat, and radar cruise control, along with Toyota’s Star Safety System and Toyota Safety Sense packages. The Hybrid XLE added features such as rear-seat climate control vents, leather upholstery, a head-up display, a blind spot monitor, and rear cross-traffic alert.
That combination makes the 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid appealing to buyers who want a midsize sedan that is comfortable, well-equipped, and efficient without giving up everyday usability. It also has a strong reputation for reliability, with only a handful of issues reported for this generation and most of them described as minor. On the downside, it is still not especially exciting to drive or look at, and the user feedback reflects a few practical complaints, including a preference for a traditional gear shifter and some disappointment with city fuel economy.

Love the gas mileage and luxury combined. The only thing missing is the gear shifter as opposed to the buttons. It was a good value compared to other similar types of cars like Honda hybrids, Toyota hybrids etc.

It’s only been one day but I love it! Picked it up in Plano, TX, drove back to Austin and only used about 1/4 tank of gas! That’s almost a 200 mile journey! The road manners were impeccable and I’ll be enjoying many years in this vehicle.

I love the Toyota Camry Hybrid and just upgraded from a 2008 to a 2019 — it gets great gas mileage and is super comfortable for long road trips. The 2019 SE model is sporty but luxurious inside and has a big trunk! I love that I now have a backup camera and my Bluetooth hooks up without any issues. Fantastic vehicle all around!

How much does the 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid cost?
| Metric | Value |
|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $21,749 |
| Year-Round Low | $20,002.89 |
| Year-Round High | $21,748.86 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $21,461 |
| Change vs. Last Year | +1.34% |
Prices are up 1.34% year-over-year — a sign of continued demand for this model year.
There are 308 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.
If you find a listing below $20,002.89, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid a good car?
Yes — owners give it 5/5, which points to very strong overall satisfaction. They consistently praise its comfort, gas mileage, smooth ride, quietness, and advanced safety features. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a midsize sedan that is easy to live with, efficient, and practical for everyday use. 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise for the car’s smooth operation and the confidence that comes from its long-term reputation. That said, some drivers mention practical annoyances rather than major mechanical concerns, which is often what you want to see in a used hybrid.
For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about dramatic failure and more about finding a well-kept example that has been maintained properly.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid?
At 65.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with past damage. After that, put a pre-purchase inspection at the top of your list, especially if the car has higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on overall condition, repair quality, and signs of uneven wear, since those details matter more when you are choosing among otherwise similar hybrids.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but still move quickly on the right car.
- Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 308 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices are up 1.34% year-over-year.
- Clean inventory: 65.9% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $20,002.89, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid's resale value?
The current average of $21,749 sits slightly above last year's $21,461.
That upward move suggests the market still values this model year, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. A stable-to-rising price trend can help support your exit value, especially if you buy at the lower end of the range and keep the car in strong condition. Because demand remains steady, a clean, well-maintained example should be easier to move than one with accident history or visible wear.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Toyota Camry Hybrid or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 65.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices are up 1.34% year-over-year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2019 if you want a comfortable, efficient hybrid with strong owner approval and enough inventory to shop carefully. If you are especially price-sensitive, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2019 remains a solid primary target when you find a clean example at a fair price.
