CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid

Summary
With 313 currently listed for sale and an average price of $19,916, 30.7% of 2019 Honda Accord Hybrids for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid 5 / 5 stars.
60.1% of 2019 Accord Hybrid models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid stands out as part of the third-generation hybrid setup, which was available for the model’s entire five-year run. It paired a third-generation two-motor hybrid powertrain with 212 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque, giving the car an agile, responsive feel. Honda also moved the hybrid battery and related components under the back seat, which preserved trunk space and allowed a 60/40-split folding rear seat. That combination makes the 2019 Accord Hybrid appealing to buyers who want a midsize sedan that is both efficient and practical.
It also benefits from the updates Honda introduced for 2021, including revised styling, improved headlights, and new 19-inch wheels for the Touring trim. The car gained a larger touchscreen infotainment system with wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while upper trim levels featured wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other additions included a rear seat reminder system, and the more expensive models added low-speed automatic braking. These features help the Accord Hybrid feel modern and well equipped.
There are tradeoffs, though. When accelerating hard, the powertrain tended to emit a constant, steady-state, unpleasant droning noise that dulled the driving experience. CarComplaints also logged several gripes from owners of the 2018 and 2019 Accord Hybrid, though none appear to be widespread aside from unexplained windshield cracks. Even so, the 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid remains a strong choice for shoppers who value efficiency, roominess, and a well-rounded feature set.

Great car! Im averaging 43 MPG which is still three times better than my previous vehicle, Infiniti M35 Sport. Interior is very spacious and easy on the eyes. Lots of trunk space. Technology is very cool for a Honda, i.e. Head Up Display (HUD), and electronic shift bottoms, especially the Hold Break feature at the red lights. If you want a very good interior space and size of a sedan, with a better than average fuel efficiency, and still a decent acceleration off the line, then a Honda Accord Hybrid is a good fit!

Is the 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid a good car?
Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the overview backs up that appeal with a practical, efficient midsize-sedan package. You get a third-generation two-motor hybrid setup, a roomy cabin, preserved trunk space, and a 60/40-split folding rear seat, so it fits well if you want efficiency without giving up everyday usefulness. It also feels modern and well equipped thanks to the infotainment and safety updates described in the overview. 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The overview points to a well-rounded hybrid sedan with practical packaging and a modern feature set, but it also notes some tradeoffs, including a droning noise under hard acceleration and a few owner gripes. For used buyers, that means reliability should be judged with a careful eye on condition and maintenance history so you can reduce the risk of inheriting a problem car.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid?
At 58.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
Start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns before you go any further. Then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to bodywork, panel alignment, and any signs of repair quality issues. You should also focus on overall condition and how the hybrid system, brakes, and interior electronics have been maintained.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 319 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.95% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 58.6% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $19,323, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid's resale value?
The current average of $19,792 sits slightly below last year's $20,185.
That softer pricing suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, that also means resale value will depend heavily on how well you preserve condition and documentation. A clean history and strong maintenance records should matter more when it comes time to list the car again.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Honda Accord Hybrid or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 30.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 58.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 1.95% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $22,060, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $19,792 average.
- It adds standard advanced safety features and a stronger value-focused presentation.
The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2019 is the smarter starting point because it combines a lower average price with solid satisfaction and decent deal availability. If you can stretch for the 2020, it may be worth it for buyers who want the newer-year package and are willing to pay more for it. For price-sensitive shoppers, the 2019 is the primary path; for shoppers prioritizing the newer-year appeal, the 2020 is the secondary path.
