Summary
With 368 currently listed for sale and an average price of $21,971.00, 32.3% of 2020 Honda Accord Hybrids for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid 5 / 5 stars and CarGurus experts gave it an 8.5 / 10.

Why it stands out
The 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid stands out because it shows how far hybrids have come from the old tradeoff between efficiency and everyday usability. According to the test-drive summary, it can deliver efficiency, practicality, style, and performance at an affordable price, and the blurb says no compromises are required when choosing it over its traditionally powered siblings or its contemporary competitors.
Its strongest appeal is straightforward: it is fuel-efficient, comes with standard advanced safety features, and is described as an excellent value for money. The main drawback is also clear, since its performance is described as fairly pedestrian. Even so, that balance makes the 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid appealing to buyers who want a sensible sedan that emphasizes economy and value without feeling like a stripped-down compromise.

The vehicle is fast and powerful and efficient. 4.3 litres per 100 kms on a 3 hr drive tonight. I dont know why the accord hybrid is under the radar. It is like a train, but rather than diesel over electric it is gas over electric. No awkward transmission shifting, but rather smooth linear power. Vehicle looks great and drives great!

For you, that means this is a smart fit if you want a sensible midsize sedan that emphasizes economy, practicality, and value over excitement. One downside is the steady eCVT drone under hard acceleration, and the extra weight can slightly blunt composure on rougher pavement.
29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so you still have room to shop selectively.
Is the 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid reliable?
Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid is described as a refined, practical hybrid that delivers strong efficiency without giving up everyday usability. Its powertrain is presented as cost-effective over time, and the expert review emphasizes that the car’s efficiency and value proposition outweigh its modest dynamic compromises.
The performance notes also point to a powertrain that is efficient in real-world use while still feeling responsive enough for normal commuting. The cost-effectiveness notes reinforce that the hybrid setup is meant to pay back over time through fuel savings.
For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the core hybrid concept and more about making sure the specific car has been maintained and driven in a way that matches its age and mileage.
What should I look for when buying a used 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid?
At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has been in any collision or shows uneven wear. Focus on body condition, panel alignment, tire wear, and signs that the hybrid system or safety equipment may have been repaired after damage. A careful test drive should also confirm that the car feels smooth under acceleration and braking.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The Hybrid EX is the standout value because it adds the Accord’s driver-assistance and infotainment technologies, plus a 12-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats, and heated side mirrors. The Hybrid EX-L adds leather and a 10-speaker premium sound system, while Touring brings navigation, a wireless smartphone charger, a WiFi hotspot, and a head-up display.
- Powertrain: The hybrid setup uses a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder and two-motor system with 212 combined horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque. It is tuned for efficiency and everyday usability, with strong real-world mpg and enough response for normal commuting.
- Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, traffic-sign-recognition technology, and road-departure mitigation. Blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert is reserved for EX trim or higher.
- Infotainment: EX trim or higher gets the Display Audio system, which includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, HD Radio, basic HondaLink services, and quick-charge USB ports. Touring adds navigation, HD digital traffic data, a wireless smartphone charger, NFC technology, and a WiFi hotspot.
- Fuel efficiency: The car is rated at 48 mpg in combined driving, and the review also cites 42.6 mpg in one week of mixed driving and 44.1 mpg on a city and suburban loop.
Which 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid trim should I buy?
The 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid is offered in 4 trim levels: Hybrid, Hybrid EX, Hybrid EX-L, and Hybrid Touring.
Here's the short version:
- Hybrid: This is the entry point, but the EX trim is the better buy if you want the most useful equipment without stretching too far.
- Hybrid EX: This is the best-value trim because it adds the full driver-assistance and infotainment setup, plus heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, and heated mirrors.
- Hybrid EX-L: Choose this if you want a more upscale cabin, leather upholstery, and the 10-speaker premium sound system.
- Hybrid Touring: This is the most feature-rich choice, with navigation, a wireless charger, a WiFi hotspot, and a head-up display, but it makes the most sense if you want the top equipment rather than the best value.
Honda Sensing is standard across the lineup, but blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert starts at EX trim.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.
- Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 372 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.25% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 64.2% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $20,414.42, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid's resale value?
The current average of $21,780 sits slightly below last year's $22,746.
That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future sellers may face a softer pricing environment than they did a year ago. Even so, the Accord Hybrid’s strong value proposition and broad appeal should help it remain attractive to used-car shoppers. Its efficiency, practicality, and reputation for satisfying ownership all support demand over time.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid safe?
The Accord gets the highest possible ratings in IIHS crash tests, and it also earns five-star ratings across the board from NHTSA.
It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.
Honda Sensing is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, traffic-sign-recognition technology, and road-departure mitigation. All Accord Hybrids also include automatic high-beam headlights, a multi-angle reversing camera, and SmartVent front side airbags. If you want blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, you need EX trim or higher.
The main caveat is that the strongest IIHS recognition is tied to Touring versions with LED low- and high-beam headlights.
Should I buy a 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2020 if:
- 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 64.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 4.25% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- It blends efficiency, practicality, style, and performance at an affordable price.
Consider the 2021 if:
- At $23,153, the 2021 costs more than the current year's $21,780 average.
- Honda freshens the car and puts more emphasis on the hybrid version.
The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2020 is the stronger buy because it combines a lower average price with strong efficiency and safety. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model year and a freshened presentation, the 2021 is the cleaner alternative.
