For the money, I think it is the best car available. We wanted a car with all of the latest safety features, such as blind-spot monitoring, that got good gas mileage. I felt like the Toyota Corolla hybrid is a better car, but a comparable used Corolla was almost $3,700 more. The Corolla gets about 55 mpg vs 43 mpg for the Ford Fusion Hybrid SEL. That sounds like a lot, but if we drive 12K miles a year and gas prices average $2 per gallon, it would only save us about $122 a year in gas. That means it would take us about 30 years to recoup the $3,700. The Toyota has other advantages, of course. But the Ford handles well, is quiet and the seats are comfortable.
