Used 2019 Nissan Maxima for Sale nearPhiladelphia, PA

How much does the 2019 Nissan Maxima cost?

Prices have softened 7.11% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 543 listings available, which gives you a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2019 Nissan Maxima a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Nissan Maxima earns a 4.75/5 user rating and a 7.5/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Form and function at 9/10.

Drivers consistently praise its powerful performance, stylish appearance, comfortable interior, good handling, and plush leather seats. The overview also points to a premium midsize feel, strong ride quality, and a more upscale cabin than basic transportation.

The trade-offs are its outdated technology and potentially polarizing design, so you should expect a car that leans more toward comfort and character than cutting-edge tech. For shoppers who want a sedan that feels premium and distinctive, that balance can work well.

Only 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the best examples may move quickly.

Is the 2019 Nissan Maxima reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with drivers describing the car as trouble-free in the ways that matter most to daily use: strong performance, comfortable seating, and a solid driving feel. The expert evaluation reinforces that sense of durability by describing the Maxima as a long-running sedan with a well-sorted powertrain and suspension.

The cost-effectiveness commentary also notes that the Maxima remains a good value despite few changes for 2019, which supports the case for steady ownership rather than frequent repair-driven turnover. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some examples may show wear-related quality issues, so condition matters a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Nissan Maxima?

At 52.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially on cars with higher mileage or incomplete service records. Focus on body condition, interior wear, and any signs that the car has been repaired after a collision. Because the Maxima’s tech and trim content vary by version, it also helps to confirm that the features you want are actually present on the specific car you’re considering.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base S skips navigation, while higher trims add more upscale materials and equipment; the SV is the second rung up the ladder, and the Platinum Reserve brings semi-aniline leather with diamond quilting and bronze-colored trim.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses a 3.5-liter V6 with 300 horsepower and 261 pound-feet of torque, paired with a CVT and front-wheel drive. Fuel economy is rated at 20 mpg city, 30 highway, and 24 combined.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward-emergency braking, a driver-attention monitor, and knee airbags for both front occupants. The SV adds blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control, the SR adds pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning, and Platinum models add reverse emergency braking.
• Infotainment: Most trims get an updated navigation system, while the base S does not. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, along with a high-speed USB-C port, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant compatibility, and NissanConnect remote services.
• Fuel efficiency: The Maxima is rated at 20 mpg city, 30 highway, and 24 combined.

Which 2019 Nissan Maxima trim should I buy?

The 2019 Nissan Maxima is offered in 6 trim levels: S, SV, SL, SR, Platinum, Platinum Reserve.

Here's the short version:

• S: This is the entry point, but it skips navigation, so it makes the most sense only if you want the lowest-cost way into the Maxima nameplate.
• SV: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control while keeping the Maxima’s core comfort and performance strengths.
• SL: Choose this if you want a more upscale feel than the SV and value comfort-oriented equipment over sportier extras.
• SR: This is the pick if you want the firmer ride and added driver-assistance features, including pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning.
• Platinum: This is the luxury-leaning choice, adding reverse emergency braking and a more premium overall presentation.
• Platinum Reserve: This is the top-end trim if you want the richest interior treatment, including semi-aniline leather with diamond quilting and bronze-colored trim.

The safety-package sweet spot is the SV, since it adds blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control without pushing you all the way to the top of the range.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Nissan Maxima?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory and pricing softness to justify shopping carefully.

• Deal availability: 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 543 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.11% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 52.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,743, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Nissan Maxima's resale value?

The current average of $17,192 sits slightly below last year's $18,507.

That decline suggests the Maxima has softened in the market, which can be good news if you are buying now but less favorable if you plan to sell soon. A lower entry price can help you limit depreciation exposure, especially if you buy a clean, well-kept example.

For a future seller, the key is to preserve condition and documentation, because the market clearly rewards better examples. Cars with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2019 Nissan Maxima safe?

The 2019 Nissan Maxima earns an IIHS Top Safety Pick rating and five-star overall ratings from NHTSA, with four-star ratings for the front-passenger side in a frontal crash and the side-impact pole test.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward-emergency braking, a driver-attention monitor, and knee airbags for both the driver and front passenger. The SV adds blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control, the SR adds pedestrian detection and lane-departure warning, and Platinum models add reverse emergency braking.

One caveat is that the Maxima does not offer ProPilot Assist, so it misses a semi-automated driving feature that some rivals provide.

Should I buy a 2019 Nissan Maxima or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 25.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 52.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.11% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 refresh updated the Maxima’s style, technology, and interior features.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $17,285, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $17,192 average.
• It adds a more spacious trunk and remains a refined carryover.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the smarter buy because prices have eased and the refresh brought meaningful updates. If you can stretch for the 2020 and want a slightly newer example with minimal changes, that is the cleaner secondary path for buyers who prioritize freshness over price.
