How much does the 2019 Hyundai Sonata cost?

Is the 2019 Hyundai Sonata a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Hyundai Sonata earns a 4.6/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its excellent fuel economy, spacious interior, smooth ride, and broad feature content. That lines up well with its role as a roomy, practical midsize sedan that gives you a lot of equipment for the money. Is the 2019 Hyundai Sonata reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback also points to a generally dependable ownership experience, with many owners highlighting the car’s trouble-free feel, smooth ride, and overall satisfaction over time. A few owners mention minor issues, but the broader pattern is that the Sonata tends to deliver a reassuring daily-driving experience. For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is more about verifying individual vehicle history and condition than assuming every example will age the same way.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Hyundai Sonata?

At 58% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any car that looks especially appealing on price. Focus on condition, maintenance records, and signs of prior bodywork or electrical quirks so you can separate a good deal from a risky one. Because this model year can be attractive on paper, the best buys are usually the ones with clean documentation and a clear service history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Hyundai Sonata?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Deal availability: 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,596 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.99% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.0% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,630, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $12,631 sits slightly below last year's $14,033.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a lower cost, but it also suggests resale values have eased compared with the prior year. If you plan to sell later, your best protection is buying a clean, well-documented example at a strong price today. A lower entry price can help offset future depreciation, especially if you avoid cars with accident history or neglected maintenance.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 28.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $11,815, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $12,631 average.
• It offers a strong value proposition with a roomy cabin, broad powertrain choices, and lots of technology.

The bottom line: If you want the better balance of current pricing, owner satisfaction, and market availability, the 2019 is the stronger default choice. If your top priority is spending less up front, the 2018 is the better value-focused alternative, especially if you find one with a clean history and good maintenance records.
