Is the 2019 Honda Odyssey reliable?

Owners rate it 4.95/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with praise centered on comfort, practicality, and features that make daily use easier. That kind of long-term confidence matters if you want a used minivan you can count on for family duty. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding one that has been maintained well and not worn down by heavy family use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Honda Odyssey?

At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, especially if the price looks unusually attractive. Put a pre-purchase inspection at the top of your checklist so you can catch signs of prior damage, uneven wear, or deferred maintenance. Focus on overall condition, because a family minivan can accumulate a lot of interior and mechanical wear even when it looks clean in photos.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Honda Odyssey?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.60% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $21,429, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Honda Odyssey's resale value?

The current average of $21,543 sits slightly below last year's $23,314.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy at a better entry point now. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and documentation than on broad market momentum. Well-kept examples should still attract family buyers, but you should expect pricing pressure if the van shows wear or has a rough history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.95/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Honda Odyssey or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 36.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.60% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.95/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $19,473, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $21,543 average.
• It adds a redesigned fifth-generation package with more features and improved versatility.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2019 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2018 is the smarter value play, especially if you find one in excellent condition.
