Is the 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong overall satisfaction. The overview highlights a hatchback that blends sporty styling, everyday utility, and a well-equipped feature set, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a folding rear seat, and a rear-view camera. Is the 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also points to a car that can be a smart and versatile choice, but one that deserves careful attention to maintenance history and known issues. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that unresolved infotainment, air-conditioning, or engine-related concerns can turn into expensive repairs if you skip a thorough pre-purchase check.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback?

At 50.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report and confirm whether any reported damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of incomplete repairs, then verify that the infotainment system, air conditioning, and engine behavior all check out on a test drive. Because this model year has known issue areas, condition and maintenance records matter more than usual.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback?

This is a moderate market, so you can buy selectively if you focus on value and condition.

• Deal availability: 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 940 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.04% compared with last year.

What is the 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback's resale value?

The current average of $18,219 sits slightly below last year's $19,186.

That softer pricing can help you buy at a more favorable entry point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, condition and maintenance history will matter a lot, especially because buyers in this segment tend to compare similar cars closely. A well-kept example should still hold appeal thanks to its practicality and broad market recognition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 50.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $19,445, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,219 average.
• It adds improved comfort and sound insulation.

The bottom line: You should start with the 2019 if you want the better value and are willing to inspect carefully. If you can stretch for a newer model and want a bit more refinement, the 2020 is the secondary path.
