The Ford Raptors are sharp looking powerful trucks. I personally like the 15-20 bodies better that 21-25. The luxury features are typically fantastic. When equipped with heated/cooled leather seats it's hard to beat. The premium price is hard to swallow but being a few years old makes them more reasonable. The newer Tremor trims are good comparisons is you love Ford trucks and can't stomach the price of a Raptor.

If you find a listing below $26,413.95, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2019 Ford F-150 a good car?
Yes — the 2019 Ford F-150 earns a 4.57/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.
Owners consistently praise its comfort, strong power, and broad feature set, and they also value the truck’s usefulness for both work and everyday driving. The spacious cabin and versatile configuration choices make it especially appealing if you want a truck that can handle hauling, commuting, and family duty. In the context of the full-size truck market, that mix of capability and comfort helps explain why it remains a popular choice.
29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.
Is the 2019 Ford F-150 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.57/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable, with comfort and power that many drivers feel confident living with over time. The expert drive notes also emphasize smooth, confident acceleration and a quiet cabin in diesel form, which supports the impression of a truck that’s easy to count on day to day. The diesel’s stop/start system can be noticeable, so used buyers should pay attention to how the truck has aged in real-world use and whether it has been maintained consistently.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford F-150?
At 74.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough inspection of body panels, frame areas, and any signs of prior repair. Focus on condition rather than trim badges alone, since the truck spans everything from basic work use to high-end luxury setups. If you’re shopping a higher-mileage example, make sure the truck’s equipment and wear match the asking price.
Key things to evaluate:
- Trim level: The base XL is a true work truck with a reversing camera, AM/FM radio, a 4.2-inch audio-system screen, and dynamic hitch assist, while the XLT adds power windows and locks plus an 8-inch Sync 3 screen. Higher trims add leather, heated and ventilated seats, luxury materials, and features like power-deploying running boards.
- Powertrain: Engine choices range from a 3.3-liter V6 to a 2.7-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6, a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, a 5.0-liter V8, and a 3.0-liter Power Stroke turbodiesel V6. The diesel brings strong torque and can tow up to 11,400 pounds when properly equipped, while the 2.7-liter EcoBoost is the most efficient non-diesel setup.
- Safety package: Available driver-assistance features include blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert. The 360-degree camera system is standard on the Limited trim and optional elsewhere.
- Infotainment: The base truck uses a 4.2-inch screen with Bluetooth, while XLT and higher trims get an 8-inch Sync 3 touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. An available Wi-Fi hotspot and premium sound system appear on higher trims.
- Fuel efficiency: The diesel returns 22 mpg city, 30 highway, 25 combined with rear-wheel drive, or 20 city, 25 highway, 22 combined with 4WD. The 2.7-liter EcoBoost gets 20 city, 26 highway, 22 combined with rear-wheel drive, while the V8 with 4WD returns 16 city, 22 highway, 18 combined.
Which 2019 Ford F-150 trim should I buy?
The 2019 Ford F-150 is offered in 7 trim levels: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Raptor, and Limited.
Here's the short version:
- Base trim: The XL is the most stripped-down choice, and it lacks the larger touchscreen, Sync 3, and the richer cabin materials found higher up the range.
- Sweet-spot trim: The XLT is the best value pick because it adds power windows and locks, an 8-inch Sync 3 screen, and USB connectivity without jumping into luxury pricing.
- Premium/top trim: The Limited is the most upscale choice, with 22-inch polished aluminum wheels, a dual-panel moonroof, dual exhaust, massaging seats, and the standard 360-degree camera system.
- Off-road trim: The Raptor is the one to choose if you want the off-road hardware, but its wide-body kit, underbody armor, and Fox Racing Shox make it less typical for everyday use.
The Limited trim gets the standard 360-degree camera system, while it remains optional on the rest of the lineup.

If you find a listing below $26,413.95, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Ford F-150's resale value?
The current average of $26,854 sits slightly below last year's $28,471.
That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy more confidently now but may temper short-term resale upside. If you plan to sell later, the current softness means your return will depend heavily on mileage, condition, and trim desirability. Well-kept trucks with strong equipment and broad appeal should still draw interest, especially if they’re priced competitively.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.57/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Is the 2019 Ford F-150 safe?
It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.
Standard safety features include a full array of front- and side-impact airbags, traction control, and a reversing camera. The available driver-assistance suite adds blind-spot monitoring, forward-collision avoidance, adaptive cruise control, and rear cross-traffic alert. The 360-degree camera system is standard on the Limited trim and optional on the rest of the lineup, so lower trims may need more careful maneuvering support if you want that feature.
Should I buy a 2019 Ford F-150 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 74.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 5.68% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.57/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
- The 2019 adds a new turbodiesel option and keeps the F-150 broadly well-rounded.
Consider the 2018 if:
- At $24,461, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $26,854 average.
- It delivers strong towing and fuel economy in a highly well-rounded package.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $29,219, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $26,854 average.
- It adds a more modern-feeling interior and advanced tech while keeping strong capability.
The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, capability, and trim variety, the 2019 is the primary path to consider. If you’re especially price-sensitive, the 2018 is the better value play, while the 2020 makes sense if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling truck.
