Is the 2019 Ford Expedition reliable?

Owners rate it 4.85/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback also points to a reliable-feeling ownership experience, with praise centered on its spaciousness, smooth ride, and overall dependability. The same feedback suggests it can be a vehicle you count on for family use and everyday hauling. For used buyers, that means the bigger long-term risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about finding one that has been maintained well.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Ford Expedition?

At 73.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you commit. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the SUV has higher mileage or signs of heavy family use. Focus on overall condition, because a large SUV like this can hide wear in the suspension, interior, and drivetrain if you only judge it by appearance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Ford Expedition?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,636 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.59% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 73.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $23,027, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Ford Expedition's resale value?

The current average of $23,027 sits slightly below last year's $26,647.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy well and keep the vehicle in strong condition so you preserve as much value as possible. Well-kept examples should still attract interest because this model year has strong owner satisfaction and broad family appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.85/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Ford Expedition or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 33.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 73.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.85/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $20,008, the 2018 costs less than the current year's $23,027 average.
• It offers a redesigned package with more room, comfort, and towing strength.

Consider the 2020 if:

• At $26,263, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $23,027 average.
• It adds even more cargo and towing capability for bigger family and hauling needs.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, owner satisfaction, and current market availability, the 2019 is the primary year to target. If your budget is tighter, the 2018 is the better secondary path because it undercuts the 2019 while still delivering the Expedition’s core strengths.
