How much does the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu cost?

Prices have softened 7.00% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,204 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing prices and conditions.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. The 2019 Chevrolet Malibu stands out as a roomy midsize sedan with a more modern feel than earlier Malibus, and it offers a larger, more open-feeling back seat along with easy-to-use features and a more polished cabin than its predecessors. It also makes sense if you want a family sedan that delivers strong value without pushing into the price range of some better-known rivals. With 28.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2019 Malibu’s reliability story is mixed overall, but this generation was the best of the front-wheel-drive Malibus in that regard. That makes it a reasonable used-car pick if you want a comfortable sedan with good space and straightforward ownership, though you should still expect to evaluate individual-condition differences carefully. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is choosing a car with uneven maintenance or prior damage rather than one that has been consistently cared for.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Chevrolet Malibu?

At 55.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns before you commit. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of body repair, uneven panel gaps, or wear that doesn’t match the mileage. Focus on overall condition and documentation, because a clean, well-maintained example is likely to be the better buy than a cheaper car with unclear history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Chevrolet Malibu?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best examples.

• Deal availability: 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,204 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.00% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 55.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,706, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2019 Chevrolet Malibu's resale value?

The current average of $12,716 sits slightly below last year's $13,674.

That price movement suggests the Malibu has softened enough to be attractive on the used market now, but it also means future sellers may face some pressure if the market stays soft. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you can help protect value better than the average listing. A clean history and good maintenance records matter more when a model is already trading below its prior-year level.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Chevrolet Malibu or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.00% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 Malibu is the right pick if you want a roomy, value-oriented midsize sedan with modern-feeling features and you can find a clean example at a good price. If you’re especially price-sensitive, it also makes sense to compare nearby model years and focus on the best-maintained car rather than the newest badge, since condition and history will matter more than a small year-to-year difference.
