CarGurus Analysis: 2019 Audi Q7

Summary
With 1,237 currently listed for sale and an average price of $18,825, 36.2% of 2019 Audi Q7s for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2019 Audi Q7 4.71 / 5 stars.
74.9% of 2019 Q7 models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2019 Audi Q7 stands out as a three-row luxury SUV that blends comfort, refinement, and useful capability. Audi’s second-generation Q7 brought a cleaner, more angular design, and the cabin was described as a technological marvel compared with the previous Q7. For this model year, the Q7 offered a choice between a turbocharged, 252-horsepower 2.0-liter four-cylinder and a turbocharged, 333hp 3.0-liter V6, with the stronger engine also bringing 7,700 pounds of towing capacity. It also had three rows of seats, with comfortable and spacious front and second rows, while the third row was smaller and best reserved for children.
The 2019 Q7 also appealed with its mix of upscale features and everyday usability. It offered digital instrumentation and, for the first time, apps such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the Navigation Plus package. Cargo space measured 14.2 cubic feet behind the third row, 37.5 cubic feet with that row folded, and 69.6 cubic feet at maximum. Buyers also got a vehicle that had performed well in crash tests conducted by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety since 2017, though headlight performance was consistently poor through 2023.
As a used luxury SUV, the 2019 Q7’s strengths are balanced by some familiar drawbacks. The turbocharged four-cylinder was said not to provide enough power and to suffer unimpressive fuel economy because it had to work hard, while the Q7 overall requires premium fuel and can bring higher-than-average maintenance costs. Even so, owners commonly praise the interior quality, comfort, and ride quality, which helps explain why the 2019 Audi Q7 remains appealing to shoppers who want a polished, practical luxury SUV.

Reviewed a 2019 Audi Q7 on Mar 5, 2020
Have driven everything over the last five decades, Benz, Lexi, BMW & Audi. Plus all the domestics, Mazda & Nissan as well. Have had a 1st Gen Q7 TDI for the last four years and loved it. However, the 2nd Gen (& 2020) Q7 really is the best of all worlds in terms of the SUV experience. Best ergonomics, MMI & interior quality in its class (or any class for that matter). Adequate performance for a daily driver (SQ for sub 5 second adrenaline junkies), and an unparalleled ride quality at speed. Understanding that there are high quality designs from everyone these days (its a great time to buy an automobile), there remains a creme de la creme segment in terms of design & quality. My informed opinion is that Audi retains its lead in this segment, albeit narrowly, and the Q7 is the best definition of SUV you will find anywhere.

How much does the 2019 Audi Q7 cost?

|---|---|
| Current Average Price | $18,801 |
| Year-Round Low | $18,801 |
| Year-Round High | $21,740 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $21,742 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −13.53% |

There are 1,231 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for comparison shopping.
Is the 2019 Audi Q7 a good car?
Yes — the 4.71/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the interior quality, comfort, and ride quality, and many also appreciate its performance and value compared with other luxury options. For you, that makes sense if you want a three-row luxury SUV that emphasizes refinement and everyday usability. With 36.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still room to find a competitive price.
Is the 2019 Audi Q7 reliable?
Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, with praise centered on comfort, quality, and the sense that the vehicle meets or exceeds expectations. That said, as a used luxury SUV, you should still plan for higher ownership costs than a mainstream model, so condition and maintenance history matter.
What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Audi Q7?
At 74.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any damage was repaired properly. Put inspection priority on bodywork, panel alignment, and signs of inconsistent wear, then focus on the cabin, electronics, and overall maintenance condition. Because this is a luxury SUV, a clean history and strong service records can matter as much as mileage.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2019 Audi Q7?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be choosy if you shop carefully.
- Deal availability: 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 1,231 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 13.53% compared with last year.
- Clean inventory: 74.5% of listings are accident-free.
If you find a listing below $18,801, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2019 Audi Q7's resale value?
The current average of $18,801 sits slightly below last year's $21,742.
That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. If you plan to sell later, the current pricing trend means your future resale value will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. Strong demand for well-kept examples should help support values, but you should expect luxury-SUV depreciation to remain a factor.
Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2019 Audi Q7 or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2019 if:
- 36.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 74.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 13.53% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
Consider the 2020 if:
- At $24,647, the 2020 costs more than the current year's $18,801 average.
- The 2020 brings a thorough refresh to styling, interior, powertrain, and technology.
The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2019 is the stronger starting point because pricing has softened and owner satisfaction is high. If you can stretch for a newer feel and updated tech, the 2020 is the better secondary path, especially if you prioritize the refresh over upfront savings.
