Is the 2019 Audi Q3 a good car?

Generally — the 2019 Audi Q3 earns a 4.33/5 user rating and an 8.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

The Q3 stands out as a small luxury SUV that feels more substantial than before while still fitting the subcompact class. It delivers composed handling and an upscale interior, and it raises the bar for technology. Audi also made fewer compromises than it did with the previous Q3, which helps make this version feel like a more complete package.

That said, it still lives in a segment where cargo and backseat space are common weak points, and performance is often less than thrilling. Even so, it balances comfort, refinement, and modern tech in a way that makes it one of the more appealing choices in its class.

36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2019 Audi Q3 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.33/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Q3’s appeal comes from its upscale cabin, composed road manners, and the way Audi packaged its technology and driver-assistance features into a small luxury SUV. The expert writeup also emphasizes that the car feels like a more complete package than the previous Q3, which is a good sign for day-to-day ownership confidence.

Its 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and standard all-wheel drive give you a straightforward mechanical setup, and the expert notes that the torque is strong and the Q3 provides solid acceleration in normal driving. The writeup also describes the car as confident and well-rounded rather than overly complicated.

Audi includes a broad set of standard safety and driver-assistance features, which can help reduce stress in daily use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a premium SUV with lots of tech can be more expensive to keep in top shape if prior maintenance has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Audi Q3?

At 69.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection that checks the body, electronics, and driver-assistance systems, since this model leans heavily on technology. Focus on overall condition, not just mileage, because a premium SUV like this can hide expensive issues if it has been poorly maintained.

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Premium comes with a fully digital instrument panel, a panoramic moonroof, Audi’s MMI infotainment system, full leather upholstery, heated front seats, and a power-adjustable driver’s seat, while the Premium Plus adds full LED automatic headlights, eight-way power seat adjustment for both front seats, wireless charging, satellite radio, and remote keyless entry. The Prestige adds power-adjustable, auto-dimming, and power-folding side mirrors, navigation, Audi Virtual Cockpit, additional parking-camera views, and an upgraded MMI system. The base trim is already well equipped, but the Prestige is the best fit if you want the most advanced tech.
• Powertrain: All trims use a 2-liter turbocharged I4 with 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic and Quattro all-wheel drive. The engine’s torque is the stronger part of the setup, and the Q3 is described as having solid acceleration and enough power for daily driving.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes front- and side-impact airbags, traction control, a reversing camera, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning. Audi calls these systems Pre Sense City and Pre Sense Basic. The Prestige trim adds a full complement of additional driver-assistance features, plus quasi-self-driving highway aids and a surround-view camera system.
• Infotainment: The Q3 comes standard with an 8.8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The Premium Plus adds wireless device charging, and the Prestige adds wireless Apple CarPlay. The larger 10.1-inch touchscreen and Audi Virtual Cockpit appear on the top trim.
• Fuel efficiency: The EPA rates the Q3 at 19 mpg city, 27 highway, and 22 combined.

Which 2019 Audi Q3 trim should I buy?

The 2019 Audi Q3 is offered in 3 trim levels: Premium, Premium Plus, Prestige.

Here's the short version:

• Premium: This is the value play if you want the core Q3 experience without paying for extras. You still get the digital instrument panel, panoramic moonroof, leather upholstery, heated front seats, and Audi’s MMI system, so it feels upscale right away.
• Premium Plus: This is the trim to target if you want the best balance of price and features. It adds LED headlights, power adjustments for both front seats, wireless charging, satellite radio, and remote keyless entry, which makes it a strong middle-ground choice.
• Prestige: This is the right pick if you want the most advanced tech and the most complete feature set. It adds Audi Virtual Cockpit, navigation, extra camera views, an upgraded MMI system, and more advanced driver-assistance features, so it suits you best if technology matters most.

The safety package is already strong on the lower trims, but the Prestige is the one that brings the fullest driver-assistance setup.

The current average of $18,575 sits slightly below last year's $19,179.

That price movement suggests the Q3 has softened enough to create a better entry point for used buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you buy well now and keep the vehicle in strong condition, you can help protect your exit value later. The model’s premium badge, strong tech appeal, and broad shopper interest should continue to support demand.

Should I buy a 2019 Audi Q3 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 69.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.15% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.33/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2019 Q3 feels larger than before and brings fewer compromises than the previous generation, while also raising the bar for technology.

The bottom line: The 2019 Q3 is the right path if you want a small luxury SUV with strong tech, a polished cabin, and a more complete feel than the earlier Q3. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can use the softened market and broad inventory to shop carefully and focus on the best-maintained example rather than rushing into the first low-mileage listing you see.
