How much does the 2018 Toyota Prius cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 467 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2018 Toyota Prius a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction, and the 2018 Toyota Prius backs that up with a practical hybrid setup, a useful hatchback layout, and a reputation for dependable ownership. The overview also highlights improved ride comfort, better handling, newer tech, and common features like a touchscreen infotainment system, rear-view camera, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keep assist. If you want an efficient daily driver with broad usefulness, this model year fits that role well. 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Toyota Prius reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview emphasizes the Prius’ reputation for reliability and dependable ownership, along with the efficiency that helped make the nameplate famous. It also notes that the hybrid components can raise repair costs, so long-term ownership risk is more about potential repair expense than basic durability.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Toyota Prius?

At 57.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a mechanic who can evaluate hybrid-specific systems. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of prior bodywork or uneven wear, since those details matter more when the market includes a sizable share of accident history.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Toyota Prius?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 467 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 57.4% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,154, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Toyota Prius's resale value?

The current average of $17,430 sits slightly below last year's $17,529.

That small decline suggests the Prius is holding value fairly steadily rather than swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that kind of price stability can make it easier to estimate your exit value and avoid a steep depreciation surprise. The model’s efficiency and practical reputation should continue to support demand among used-car shoppers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Toyota Prius or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 57.4% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $19,632, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $17,430 average.
• It adds a new electric all-wheel-drive option.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want a lower entry price and a stable market, especially if you can verify clean history and condition. If you can stretch your budget and want the added all-wheel-drive option, the 2019 is the better upgrade path.
