Is the 2018 Subaru Impreza a good car?

Yes — owners rate it 5/5, and that lines up with the model’s strong appeal for everyday use. Owners consistently praise its sporty feel, safety features, and all-wheel drive capability, especially when weather gets unpredictable. It also gets credit for being spacious and comfortable enough for daily driving and family needs, though some shoppers note that trunk space could be larger. With 30.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a strong-value example.

Is the 2018 Subaru Impreza reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car people feel good about keeping, with dependable all-wheel drive performance and a trouble-free ownership experience implied by the strong satisfaction score. The repeated praise for its practical, confidence-inspiring character suggests it’s the kind of car many buyers can count on over time. For used buyers, that kind of owner confidence lowers the risk of unpleasant surprises, especially if the specific car has been maintained well.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Subaru Impreza?

At 62.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection on any car that looks promising. Focus on body condition, signs of prior repair, and whether the car’s wear matches its mileage and asking price. Because the accident-free share is not overwhelming, a careful condition check matters more than usual.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Subaru Impreza?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 991 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 62.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $13,290, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Subaru Impreza's resale value?

The current average of $13,557 sits slightly below last year's $13,970.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more carefully now but may also limit short-term appreciation if you plan to sell soon. If you purchase at a strong price and keep the car in clean condition, you’ll be better positioned to protect value later. The model’s broad owner appeal should help support demand, but resale will still depend heavily on mileage, condition, and accident history.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 62.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $12,583, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $13,557 average.
• It offers standard all-wheel drive with affordable, practical appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2018 is the better starting point. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2017 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the core Subaru all-wheel-drive appeal.
