Is the 2019 Subaru Impreza a good car?

Yes — the 2019 Subaru Impreza earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. The overview describes it as a practical all-weather compact car with standard all-wheel drive, everyday usability, and a balance of serious performance and day-to-day practicality. It is especially appealing if you want traction and utility without giving up basic commuting comfort, though it is also framed as a car that prioritizes function over luxury or refinement. With 30.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitively priced example.

Is the 2019 Subaru Impreza reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview suggests the Impreza’s reliability story is tied to its practical, straightforward nature and its ability to handle rough conditions without losing everyday usefulness. At the same time, the same summary notes that many examples have been heavily used, abused, or modified, so the biggest long-term ownership risk for used buyers is not the model itself as much as the condition and history of the specific car you choose.

What should I look for when buying a used 2019 Subaru Impreza?

At 65.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the car has signs of heavy use or modification. Focus on overall condition, maintenance evidence, and whether the car still feels tight and composed on the road, since the overview points to rough ride quality and examples that may have been driven hard.

What is the 2019 Subaru Impreza's resale value?

The current average of $14,325 sits slightly below last year's $14,927.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more buyer-friendly, which can also mean future sellers may need to stay competitive on asking price. If you buy well and keep the car in strong condition, you may be better positioned to preserve value when it is time to sell. The model’s practical appeal and all-wheel-drive identity should help keep it relevant with shoppers who want usable, weather-ready transportation.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2019 Subaru Impreza or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2019 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2019 if:

• 30.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.03% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2019 is a sensible choice if you want the Impreza’s core strengths at a softened price point, especially if all-wheel drive and everyday practicality matter most to you. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-documented example rather than chasing the lowest sticker alone.
