Yes — the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its luxurious features, comfort, and performance, and they also highlight the power delivery and the electronic features that improve the driving experience. Is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a vehicle that feels dependable in daily use, with praise centered on comfort, luxury, and the way its features hold up over time. The recurring positive themes around power and electronic convenience also suggest a model that many owners feel confident living with. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained well, since premium SUVs can become expensive if deferred maintenance has piled up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for the suspension, electronics, and interior condition. Because this is a luxury SUV with a lot of equipment, you’ll want to focus on how everything works in real-world use, not just on appearance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.04% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $21,123, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS's resale value?

The current average of $21,123 sits slightly below last year's $24,291.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on condition, mileage, and maintenance history rather than on broad market momentum alone. Well-kept examples should still attract interest because this model has a strong reputation for comfort and luxury appeal.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want a well-equipped, comfort-first luxury SUV and can verify a clean, well-maintained example. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, history, and asking price rather than choosing by model year alone.
