How much does the 2018 Kia Sorento cost?

Prices have softened 8.75% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,591 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2018 Kia Sorento a good car?

Yes — 4.6/5 is a strong user rating, and owners consistently praise its stylish design, comfortable interior, and smooth driving experience. The review summary also points to spaciousness and safety features as recurring strengths, which fits a family-oriented SUV well. For you, that means the Sorento makes the most sense if you want a practical three-row SUV with a comfortable cabin and broad everyday appeal. With 32.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Kia Sorento reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also highlights a generally dependable ownership experience, with many drivers describing the Sorento as smooth and trouble-free over time. At the same time, some owners mention potential mechanical issues, so you should treat maintenance history and pre-purchase inspection results as especially important on a used example. For long-term ownership, the main risk is buying one that has been poorly maintained or has unresolved engine-related concerns.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Kia Sorento?

At 58.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can screen for accidents, title issues, and inconsistent mileage records. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the drivetrain, electronics, and interior condition, since those areas matter most on a family SUV that may have seen heavy use. If possible, focus on examples with clean records and evidence of regular maintenance.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Kia Sorento?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can find value if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,591 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.75% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 58.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,999, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $11,999 sits slightly below last year's $13,150.

That softer pricing suggests the Sorento has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you buy at a strong price and keep the vehicle in good condition, you can help protect your value when it is time to sell. Strong demand for family-friendly SUVs can still support resale, especially when the vehicle has a clean history and solid maintenance records.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 32.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 58.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2017 if:

• At $10,911, the 2017 costs less than the current year's $11,999 average.
• It offers broad appeal with strong styling, comfort, safety, and value.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $13,635, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $11,999 average.
• It adds updates, a more upscale feel, and stronger family-friendly appeal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a smart middle ground if you want a well-liked Sorento with a softer price than the newer model year. If your budget is tighter, the 2017 is the better value play; if you want to spend more for a newer-feeling package, the 2019 is the upgrade path.
