How much does the 2018 Jeep Cherokee cost?

Is the 2018 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 4.8/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its features, spaciousness, smooth ride, and 4X4 capability, while also calling out its value. For you, that means the 2018 Jeep Cherokee makes the most sense if you want a compact SUV that balances everyday usability with Jeep capability, especially if you value a practical cabin and available off-road hardware. With 33.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2018 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a vehicle that many drivers find dependable in daily use, with repeated praise for its smooth ride and trouble-free ownership experience. The same reviews also highlight its long-term appeal through strong value and capability, which matters if you plan to keep the vehicle for years. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure the specific vehicle you choose has been well maintained and matches the condition its owner satisfaction suggests.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Jeep Cherokee?

At 66.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, paint, and alignment, since condition differences can matter a lot in a market with mixed history. It also makes sense to focus on how the vehicle drives and whether its features and equipment work as expected, because the best used Cherokee is the one that feels consistent with its asking price.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Jeep Cherokee?

This is a moderate buyer’s market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 4,382 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.52% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 66.5% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,476, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $12,476 sits slightly below last year's $14,262.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle has been maintained. If you buy a clean, well-kept example, you give yourself a better chance of holding value relative to the broader market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 33.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 66.5% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.52% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want a well-liked Cherokee with strong owner satisfaction and a softer price environment. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep shopping within nearby model years and compare condition closely, because the best value will come from the cleanest, best-maintained example rather than the cheapest one on paper.
