At 55.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should run a vehicle history report before you commit, then prioritize a pre-purchase inspection from a trusted mechanic. Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Ford Taurus?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

If you find a listing below $12,047, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Ford Taurus's resale value?

The current average of $12,047 sits slightly below last year's $13,914.

That price movement suggests the Taurus has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation, which can help limit how much value it loses from here. If you buy at the right price and keep the car in good condition, you may be better positioned than a shopper who pays near the top of the range. Strong demand for well-kept examples can also help support future resale.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Taurus or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 55.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.41% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a good choice if you want the strongest mix of current pricing, owner satisfaction, and available inventory in this range. If you are especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower asking price outweighs the tradeoff in condition or equipment.
