Used 2018 Ford Taurus for Sale nearDurham, NC

How much does the 2018 Ford Taurus cost?

Prices have softened 12.59% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 435 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2018 Ford Taurus a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Ford Taurus earns a 4.71/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers commonly praise its powerful performance, extensive features, and appealing styling, and many also call out its reliability. For you, that makes it a sensible choice if you want a roomy full-size sedan with a lot of equipment and a broad spread of powertrain choices. With 29.2% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Ford Taurus reliable?

Owners rate it 4.71/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers describe the 2018 Ford Taurus as reliable and dependable, and the review summary also points to a trouble-free ownership experience for many buyers. That kind of feedback matters if you want a used sedan you can count on over the long term. For used buyers, the main risk is less about the model’s reputation and more about finding a well-kept example with consistent maintenance and no hidden wear.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Ford Taurus?

At 56.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership patterns before you commit. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on body condition, panel alignment, and signs of prior repair work. Because this model can attract higher-mileage listings, focus on overall condition and maintenance evidence rather than mileage alone.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Ford Taurus?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find value.

• Deal availability: 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 435 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.59% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 56.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,093, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Ford Taurus's resale value?

The current average of $12,093 sits slightly below last year's $13,835.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the car easier to buy now but also means future resale gains may be limited. If you plan to sell later, condition and documentation will matter a lot because buyers will compare your car against a fairly broad pool of used listings. A clean history and strong maintenance record should help you stand out in a market where pricing has already softened.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.71/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford Taurus or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 29.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.71/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 Ford Taurus makes the most sense if you want a roomy, well-equipped full-size sedan and you find a clean example at a competitive price. If you’re more price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on the best-maintained car rather than the newest badge, since the market is already giving you some leverage on price.
