Is the 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty a good car?

With a user rating of 3.75/5, the 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty looks like a strong fit if you want a heavy-duty truck that blends serious capability with a broad feature set. The overview points to a lighter aluminum-alloy body, modern driver-assistance tech, and strong towing numbers, so you get a work-focused truck that feels more current than a bare-bones hauler.

That makes it especially appealing if you want maximum towing ability, a wide range of trims, and more comfort and technology than older heavy-duty pickups typically offered. With 28.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty reliable?

The 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty is described as having an excellent reliability record overall, which is a strong point for a used heavy-duty truck. The overview also suggests that this generation’s modern construction and equipment helped it feel more refined without giving up core capability.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that heavy-duty trucks often live hard lives, so condition and maintenance history matter as much as the model’s overall reputation.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty?

At 70.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing or work. Focus on overall condition, signs of wear from heavy use, and whether the equipment and features still operate as expected.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,348 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.57% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 70.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $37,203, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty's resale value?

The current average of $39,017 sits slightly below last year's $40,047.

That suggests the truck has softened a bit in the market, which can help you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale value is still supported by strong capability and broad demand, but pricing may stay sensitive to condition, mileage, trim, and equipment. If you keep the truck well maintained and avoid heavy wear, you should be in a better position when it’s time to sell.

Should I buy a 2018 Ford F-350 Super Duty or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 70.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.57% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2018 is a strong choice if you want the blend of capability, modern features, and current pricing that this year offers. If you’re price-sensitive, it also makes sense to compare nearby years and focus on the best-maintained truck with the cleanest history rather than chasing a specific badge year.
