Is the 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty a good car?

Yes — owners give it 4.5/5, which points to strong overall satisfaction. Review feedback consistently highlights its power, comfort, and towing capability, and many owners also like its rugged workhorse character and stylish features. For you, that makes it especially appealing if you need a heavy-duty truck that can handle serious towing while still feeling more modern than a bare-bones work truck. Is the 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a truck that feels dependable in the ways that matter most for heavy-duty use, especially power delivery and towing confidence. The review summary also reflects a durable, work-focused personality that many buyers can count on for demanding jobs. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is making sure a truck that has been worked hard has been maintained well and inspected carefully before you commit.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty?

At 67.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can screen for accidents, title issues, and major repairs before you go any further. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on suspension and underbody condition, since heavy-duty trucks can see hard use. It also makes sense to focus on overall wear, maintenance records, and signs of towing abuse so you can separate a well-kept truck from one that has been overworked.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you have room to shop but should still move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,188 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.92% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,045, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty's resale value?

The current average of $38,179 sits slightly below last year's $39,329.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future resale gains may be limited unless you choose a particularly desirable configuration. If you plan to sell later, condition and maintenance history will matter a lot, especially in a truck segment where buyers pay close attention to how hard a vehicle has been used. Strong demand for well-kept examples should help support value, but the best resale outcomes will come from trucks that show clear evidence of careful ownership.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 67.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with strong owner satisfaction, solid market availability, and a price that has eased a bit, the 2017 is a sensible primary choice. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it with nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-maintained truck you can find rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
