Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Drivers’ feedback highlights a car that feels dependable in everyday use, with praise centered on its roominess, solid performance, and easy-to-live-with character. The recurring theme is that this is a sedan many owners feel comfortable counting on for regular driving and longer trips. For used buyers, that suggests the bigger ownership risk is less about the model’s basic appeal and more about finding one that has been maintained well and hasn’t been worn down by age or mileage.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Chevrolet Impala?

At 50.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. A pre-purchase inspection should be a priority, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings with similar prices. Focus on overall condition, maintenance records, and signs of uneven wear so you can separate a clean, well-kept Impala from one that has simply been priced attractively.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Chevrolet Impala?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 680 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.28% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 50.6% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,616, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Chevrolet Impala's resale value?

The current average of $12,616 sits slightly below last year's $13,180.

That price movement suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help limit how much value you lose if you buy at the right price. If you plan to resell later, a lower entry cost gives you a better chance of staying ahead of the curve. The Impala’s broad appeal as a roomy, comfortable sedan should also help keep it relevant with future used buyers.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Chevrolet Impala or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 25.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 50.6% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.28% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2018 is the better primary pick if you want a well-liked full-size sedan with a softer price trend and enough inventory to shop carefully. If you’re especially price-sensitive, you can also compare nearby years to see whether a lower-priced alternative gives you similar space and comfort for less money.
