CarGurus Analysis: 2018 BMW 7 Series

Summary
With 479 currently listed for sale and an average price of $22,974.00, 29.6% of 2018 BMW 7 Series for sale on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favorably reviewed: Owners rated the 2018 BMW 7 Series 4.31 / 5 stars.
60.1% of 2018 BMW 7 Series models on CarGurus are accident free.
Why it stands out
The 2018 BMW 7 Series stands out as a flagship luxury sedan that blends advanced technology with a sporting character. BMW’s 7 Series has long been positioned at the cutting edge of automotive tech, and the model’s conservative design helps it project that innovation without looking overly flashy. For buyers, that combination of prestige, comfort, and a more driver-focused personality is a major part of the appeal.
What makes this generation especially distinctive is its breadth of powertrains and equipment. The 7 Series lineup includes 48-volt mild hybrids, a plug-in hybrid, and an all-electric model, while the cabin features BMW’s Live Cockpit setup with a 12.3-inch digital cluster and a 14.9-inch curved infotainment display. It also offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, a standard head-up display, quad-zone climate control, front seat massagers, a panoramic glass roof, and available rear-seat theater-style tech. Underneath, it uses aluminum suspension hardware, adaptive air suspension, active anti-roll bars, and all-wheel steering, all of which support the car’s polished ride and handling balance.
There are tradeoffs, though. The 7 Series is known for expensive options, high depreciation, and a poor turning circle. Even so, its strong engines, excellent rear passenger room, and overall sense of luxury make it a compelling choice for shoppers who want a full-size sedan that feels both technologically advanced and genuinely substantial.

The 2018 BMW 750i is an amazing piece of machinery. We tried many many luxury vehicles and NONE had the luxury and performance except maybe Mercedes (but the cost of a Mercedes vs BMW is about $20K more for a 3-4 year old model equippied similiarly) So, the value of the flagship BMW is AMAZING!!!!! HOWEVER, be sure to buy certified pre-owned and get the extended warranty out to 7 years. You do not want to pay those repair bills. You Definitely need to be protected.

| Year-Round Low | $22,948 |
| Year-Round High | $25,466.13 |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $25,439 |
| Change vs. Last Year | −9.27% |
Prices have softened 9.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

If you find a listing below $22,948, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
Is the 2018 BMW 7 Series a good car?
Generally — the 4.31/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise the powerful engine, luxurious interior, smooth ride, and excellent performance, and many also say it offers good value compared with similar luxury vehicles. For you, that makes it especially appealing if you want a flagship sedan that emphasizes prestige, comfort, and a driver-focused feel. The 26.1% share of good or great deals also suggests there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.
Is the 2018 BMW 7 Series reliable?
Owners rate it 4.31/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.
The owner feedback also leans toward dependable day-to-day enjoyment, with repeated praise for the smooth ride and strong performance that help the car feel well sorted over time. At the same time, some owners mention concerns about potential engine issues and repair costs, which is a reminder that long-term ownership can be expensive if you buy a poorly maintained example. For used buyers, that means reliability is best approached by prioritizing service history and overall condition.
What should I look for when buying a used 2018 BMW 7 Series?
At 59.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from cars with prior damage or repeated claims. After that, put inspection priority on signs of repair quality, uneven panel fit, and any evidence of deferred maintenance, since this is a luxury sedan where condition matters a lot. Focus especially on the mechanical and electrical health of the car, because a premium model like this can become costly if you inherit unresolved issues.

What is the 2018 BMW 7 Series's resale value?
The current average of $23,080 sits slightly below last year's $25,439.
That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favorable entry point today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect depreciation to remain a meaningful factor, especially if the car is optioned heavily or has higher-than-average wear. Strong condition and a clean history will matter more if you want to protect value later.
Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.31/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2018 BMW 7 Series or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2018 if:
- 26.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- At 59.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 9.27% compared with last year.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2018 if you want a flagship luxury sedan with strong owner approval and a softer price than it had a year ago. If you’re especially price-sensitive, nearby model years may also be worth comparing, but the 2018 stands out as a sensible target when you find a clean, well-priced example with documented history.
