Is the 2018 Audi A6 a good car?

Yes — the 2018 Audi A6 earns a 5/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction.

Drivers consistently praise the interior design, the powerful performance, and the handling. The cabin and feature set also come up often as strengths, and many owners describe the car as a luxurious ride. For you, that means this model year fits especially well if you want a refined midsize luxury sedan with a premium feel and a more engaging road character than many comfort-first rivals.

With 37.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, the market still offers a meaningful number of attractive shopping opportunities.

Is the 2018 Audi A6 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the car’s trouble-free character, solid performance, and the kind of long-term appeal that makes it easier to trust as a used luxury sedan. That said, you should still expect the usual used-luxury ownership risks, so a careful pre-purchase inspection matters if you want to avoid expensive surprises later.

What should I look for when buying a used 2018 Audi A6?

At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report and confirm whether any prior damage was repaired properly. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, paint, alignment, and interior condition so you can spot signs of incomplete repairs or wear that may not show up in photos. If a listing looks especially clean, make sure the condition matches the asking price before you move forward.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2018 Audi A6?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the best listings.

• Deal availability: 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 660 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.96% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,139, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2018 Audi A6's resale value?

The current average of $16,270 sits slightly below last year's $17,676.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future sellers if they buy at the right price today. If you keep the car in strong condition and avoid accident history, you may be better positioned to hold value relative to a poorly documented example. The current market also suggests buyers still respond to the A6’s premium image and feature set, which supports demand when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2018 Audi A6 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2018 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2018 if:

• 37.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.96% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2019 if:

• At $21,056, the 2019 costs more than the current year's $16,270 average.
• It brings a redesigned cabin with a more modern interface and advanced tech.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2018 is the smarter starting point because it combines a lower average price with strong owner satisfaction. If you’re willing to spend more for a newer-feeling interior and updated technology, the 2019 is the better upgrade path. For most price-sensitive buyers, the 2018 should be the first year you shop.
