How much does the 2017 Toyota Tundra cost?

Prices have softened 1.86% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 1,530 listings available, which gives you a meaningful amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Toyota Tundra a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Toyota Tundra earns a 4.7/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, reliability, and roomy interior, and many say it feels worth the price for its features and performance. That makes it a solid fit if you want a full-size truck with long-haul appeal and everyday usefulness. 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so there is still some market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Toyota Tundra reliable?

Owners rate it 4.7/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, durability, and a truck that many drivers feel they can count on over the long term. That kind of reputation matters if you plan to keep your used truck for years rather than just a short ownership cycle. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure a well-used example has been maintained properly and not worn down by hard service.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Toyota Tundra?

At 56.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from trucks with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough inspection of the body, frame, suspension, and interior wear, since condition can vary a lot on used trucks. Focus on maintenance history and signs of heavy use, because those details matter more than mileage alone.

What is the 2017 Toyota Tundra's resale value?

The current average of $28,185 sits slightly below last year's $28,719.

That softer pricing suggests the market has become a bit more favorable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. Even so, the Tundra’s reputation for durability and owner satisfaction helps support demand over time. If you keep the truck in strong condition and maintain it well, you should be in a better position when it comes time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.7/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Tundra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 56.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 1.86% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.7/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $25,152, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $28,185 average.
• It offers a more straightforward, traditional truck feel with useful updates and strong owner feedback.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market balance of price, satisfaction, and inventory, the 2017 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the more budget-friendly path and still delivers the core Tundra strengths.
