Is the 2017 Toyota Sienna a good car?

Yes — the 4.88/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the spacious interior, comfort, and reliability, and many also value the versatile seating layout and family-friendly convenience. That lines up well with the Sienna’s role as a practical minivan for hauling people and cargo, especially if you want one vehicle that can handle daily family duty and bigger trips. Is the 2017 Toyota Sienna reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, with many drivers saying they feel confident counting on it for family use. That kind of long-term praise matters most if you plan to keep the vehicle for years and want something that can handle regular use without constant attention. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is making sure the specific example you choose has been maintained well and inspected carefully.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Toyota Sienna?

At 53.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with accident records. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of bodywork, uneven wear, or repair quality. Focus on overall condition and maintenance history, since a well-kept example is more likely to deliver the family-hauling usefulness you want.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota Sienna?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 1,243 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.33% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 53.7% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,599, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Toyota Sienna's resale value?

The current average of $19,192 sits slightly below last year's $19,853.

That softer pricing suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more selectively now but may also limit upside if you sell soon. If you plan to resell later, condition and maintenance will matter even more because buyers tend to reward clean, well-kept minivans. A strong ownership record can help offset some of the broader price pressure.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota Sienna or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 53.7% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.33% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,360, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $19,192 average.
• It emphasizes broad utility with strong tech and family-friendly value.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $21,631, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $19,192 average.
• It is especially appealing if all-wheel drive matters to you.

The bottom line: The 2017 is the best primary path if you want a well-liked, family-focused minivan with strong owner satisfaction and a softer market price. If you’re more price-sensitive, the 2016 is the better value play; if you want to spend more for a newer option, the 2018 is the alternative to compare.
