How much does the 2017 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 3,024 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2017 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel economy, and cargo space, and they also like the smooth ride and variety of features. For you, that makes it a sensible fit if you want a practical compact SUV with everyday usefulness, especially if space and efficiency matter more than driving excitement. With 34.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2017 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback highlights reliability, and it also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience that many shoppers value in a used SUV. That kind of reputation matters if you want something you can count on for long-term use, especially when you plan to keep the vehicle for several years. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the model’s basic durability and more about finding one that has been well maintained and not worn down by prior use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Toyota RAV4?

At 51.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history before you get too far into the process. After that, prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing has higher mileage or visible wear, because condition can vary a lot from one example to another. Focus on signs of body repair, interior wear, and any issues that could affect long-term reliability or resale value.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota RAV4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can be patient and still find a fair deal if you shop carefully.

• Deal availability: 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 3,024 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 51.2% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,661, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $17,452 sits slightly above last year's $17,385.

That small increase suggests the RAV4 has held its value fairly well, which is a good sign if you plan to sell later. Stable pricing also tells you the market sees this model year as a dependable, in-demand used SUV rather than one that is rapidly losing appeal. If you buy carefully and keep the vehicle in good condition, you should have a reasonable chance of preserving value over time.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 34.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.2% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want a well-liked, value-oriented RAV4 with stable pricing and a decent chance of finding a competitive deal. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2017 remains a strong primary choice for shoppers who want a balanced mix of satisfaction, practicality, and market stability.
