How much does the 2017 Toyota RAV4 cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 2,963 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare before you buy.

Is the 2017 Toyota RAV4 a good car?

Generally — the 4.48/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel economy, and cargo space, and many also like the smooth ride and broad feature set. In practical terms, that lines up well with the RAV4’s everyday-use focus: you get a compact SUV that’s built to be easy to live with, useful for family hauling, and well equipped for the money. The market also shows 32.3% of listings as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2017 Toyota RAV4 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.48/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to reliability, dependability, and trouble-free ownership as major strengths, with many drivers describing it as a vehicle they can count on over the long term. That kind of reputation matters for used buyers because it usually translates into fewer surprises and a more predictable ownership experience. For you, the main long-term risk is buying a poorly maintained example, so condition and service history still matter a lot.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Toyota RAV4?

At 51.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and ownership history before you get too far along. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the listing has any signs of prior damage or inconsistent maintenance. Focus on overall condition, because a clean-looking RAV4 can still hide wear, repair quality issues, or deferred maintenance that affects long-term value.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Toyota RAV4?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find a fair deal if you compare listings closely.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,963 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 51.9% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $16,663, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Toyota RAV4's resale value?

The current average of $17,633 sits slightly below last year's $17,680.

That small decline suggests the market has been stable rather than volatile, which is usually helpful if you plan to resell later. A steady price pattern can make it easier to estimate future value because you are not dealing with sharp swings in demand. For a future seller, that means a well-kept RAV4 should remain relatively easy to price competitively, especially if it has strong service records and clean history.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.48/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Toyota RAV4 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 51.9% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.48/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a well-equipped, practical compact SUV with strong owner approval and a stable price profile, the 2017 is a sensible primary choice. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby years and focus on whichever one gives you the cleanest history and best condition at the lowest out-the-door cost.
