How much does the 2017 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 8.67% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 6,433 listings available, which gives you a solid pool to compare prices and conditions.

Is the 2017 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 4.82/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise the comfortable ride, powerful performance, spacious interior, and useful technology, including the sound system and touchscreen display. That makes it a strong fit if you want a full-size pickup that feels more refined and family-friendly than purely work-focused. With 30.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.82/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback highlights a truck that feels comfortable, capable, and well-equipped, with owners repeatedly calling out its dependable ride quality and strong feature set. That kind of feedback suggests you can count on it for everyday use if the truck has been maintained properly. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about the model’s appeal and more about finding one with a clean history and consistent upkeep.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 RAM 1500?

At 65.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from trucks with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially on the suspension, cabin features, and overall wear. Focus on condition first, because the best used example will be the one that shows careful ownership and no hidden issues.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 RAM 1500?

This is a moderate market, so you can be selective without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 6,433 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.67% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 65.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $19,150, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $19,150 sits slightly below last year's $20,969.

That softer pricing can help you buy more carefully now, but it also means future resale will depend heavily on how well the truck is maintained and how clean its history is. If you buy a well-kept example, you may be better positioned to recover value later than if you choose a truck with visible wear or prior damage. Strong feature content and broad shopper appeal can help support demand when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.82/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 65.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.67% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.82/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $17,545, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $19,150 average.
• It leans into luxury and refinement more than utility.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger all-around shopping position, the 2017 is the better primary target because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction is high. If your top priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the better secondary path, especially if you value a more upscale personality and can find a clean example.
