You should prioritize a pre-purchase inspection, especially because this is a high-performance luxury car where repair costs can add up quickly. Focus on overall condition, service history, and signs of hard use, since those factors matter more than mileage alone. If possible, compare multiple listings so you can judge whether the car’s price matches its condition and history.

This is a seller’s market, so you should act selectively and be ready to move when a strong listing appears.

• Deal availability: 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 568 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.17% year-over-year.

What is the 2017 Porsche 911's resale value?

The current average of $121,776 sits slightly above last year's $118,034.

That upward move suggests the market still values this model year, which can help support resale strength if you buy carefully. The combination of strong demand, limited inventory, and a desirable nameplate can work in your favor when it is time to sell. Condition will matter a lot, though, so a clean history and strong maintenance record can make a meaningful difference in what future buyers are willing to pay.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Porsche 911 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 27.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Accident-free inventory is solid at 82% — always verify the vehicle history report.
• Price trend: Prices are up 3.17% year-over-year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the 911’s turbo-era updates, strong owner satisfaction, and a market that still shows healthy demand, the 2017 is a compelling choice. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare it with nearby years and focus on the cleanest, best-priced example rather than chasing the newest badge alone.
