There are 863 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare on price and condition.

Is the 2017 Nissan Frontier a good car?

Generally — the 4.1/5 user rating points to a truck that many owners feel good about living with. Owners consistently praise its value, comfort, and size, and they also describe it as durable and reliable. The Frontier’s straightforward, work-truck appeal fits you well if you want a practical pickup with a lower price than some rivals and a reputation for toughness. With 32.1% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a meaningful chance to find a competitive offer.

Is the 2017 Nissan Frontier reliable?

Owners rate it 4.1/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly describes the Frontier as durable, reliable, and a truck you can count on over time. That kind of reputation matters if you want a used pickup that should hold up well with regular use. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about the truck’s basic toughness and more about finding one that has been maintained properly and not worn down by hard use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Nissan Frontier?

At 61% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from trucks with accident records or repeated ownership issues. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially if the truck has been used for towing, hauling, or off-road driving. Focus on overall condition, signs of wear in the cabin and bed, and whether the truck feels consistent with its mileage and asking price.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

What is the 2017 Nissan Frontier's resale value?

The current average of $16,021 sits slightly below last year's $16,121.

That small decline suggests the Frontier has been holding value fairly steadily rather than swinging sharply up or down. For you as a future seller, that usually means pricing should remain predictable if the truck stays in good condition and has a clean history. A model with broad appeal and a reputation for durability can be easier to move when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.1/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Nissan Frontier or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.1/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $15,125, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $16,021 average.
• It appeals to you if you want a simple, familiar pickup with small updates and a no-nonsense feel.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, availability, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the better value-focused alternative, especially if you find one in cleaner condition.
