Used 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS for Sale near California

How much does the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS cost?

Prices have softened 9.04% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 691 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS earns a 4.61/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, comfort, and engineering quality, and many also like the stylish design and smooth performance. For you, that makes it a strong fit if you want a large three-row luxury SUV with a premium feel and room for six or seven people. The market also shows 36.8% of listings as good or great deals, which adds some shopping flexibility.

Is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS reliable?

Owners rate it 4.61/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a dependable-feeling ownership experience, with praise for its engineering quality and smooth, trouble-free performance. That kind of response suggests you can count on it as a long-term luxury SUV if you stay on top of maintenance and buy a well-kept example. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is paying luxury-SUV repair costs on a vehicle that may have been neglected or heavily used.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

At 63.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of wear in the suspension, interior, and electronics. Because this is a large luxury SUV, condition matters a lot: a well-maintained example is much easier to live with than one that has been deferred on service or repairs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 691 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.04% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 63.1% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $18,084, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS's resale value?

The current average of $18,084 sits slightly below last year's $19,881.

That price movement suggests the market has softened, which can help you buy more affordably now but may also limit short-term upside if you plan to resell soon. For a future seller, the key is to buy a clean, well-maintained example at a sensible price so you have less depreciation left to absorb. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.61/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 63.1% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.04% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.61/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the better value play, the 2017 is the primary year to target because pricing has eased and owner satisfaction is strong. If you are especially price-sensitive, focus on the cleanest, best-documented examples rather than chasing the cheapest listing, since condition and history matter a lot in this segment.
