How much does the 2017 Hyundai Tucson cost?

Prices have softened 3.77% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,190 listings available, which gives you a solid pool of options to compare.

Is the 2017 Hyundai Tucson a good car?

Yes — the 4.6/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. You’ll see recurring praise for the spacious interior, smooth and quiet ride, and useful features like heated seats and a moonroof. The Tucson also fits well if you want a compact SUV that emphasizes value and everyday usability, especially with its comfortable, well-equipped feel. With 32.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there’s still room to shop selectively.

Is the 2017 Hyundai Tucson reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The review summary also points to a reputation that many owners describe as trouble-free and dependable over time, with value supported by Hyundai’s ownership package. At the same time, a few drivers mention reliability concerns, so used buyers should pay close attention to maintenance history and overall condition before committing.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Hyundai Tucson?

At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

Start with a vehicle history report so you can confirm accident records, title status, and service history before you go any further. Then prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, with extra attention to bodywork, alignment, and signs of uneven wear that could point to past damage. You should also focus on how the vehicle drives and whether its condition matches the seller’s description, especially if you’re comparing multiple listings.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Hyundai Tucson?

This is a moderate market, so you can shop selectively without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,190 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.77% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $12,273, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Hyundai Tucson's resale value?

The current average of $12,274 sits slightly below last year's $12,754.

That softer pricing suggests the Tucson is in a buyer-friendly phase, which can help you if you’re shopping now but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. Even so, the model’s value-oriented reputation and broad appeal can help support demand when it’s time to sell. Well-kept examples should still attract attention from shoppers looking for a practical compact SUV at a reasonable price.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Hyundai Tucson or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2016 if:

• At $11,175, the 2016 costs less than the current year's $12,274 average.
• It offers a redesigned interior with strong safety and warranty appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the better-balanced shopping opportunity, the 2017 is the stronger pick thanks to its current pricing, solid owner satisfaction, and broad availability. If your priority is spending less upfront, the 2016 is the better value-focused alternative.
