How much does the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe cost?

Prices have softened 8.79% compared to this time last year, making it a favorable time to shop this model year.

There are 447 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe a good car?

Yes — the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe earns a 4.67/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its smooth ride, powerful engine, and value for money, and many also like the luxurious features and reliability. The Santa Fe’s roomy, family-friendly layout fits shoppers who want a practical SUV with extra comfort and versatility. With 30.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding attractive pricing.

Is the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe reliable?

Owners rate it 4.67/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback highlights reliability, and drivers also describe it as dependable and a vehicle they can count on over time. That kind of owner confidence matters if you plan to keep a used SUV for several years, because it suggests lower anxiety about long-term ownership.

What should I look for when buying a used 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe?

At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.

You should start with a vehicle history report so you can separate clean examples from those with prior damage. After that, prioritize a thorough pre-purchase inspection, especially for signs of past bodywork, uneven panel gaps, or wear that doesn’t match the mileage. Focus on overall condition and maintenance records, since a well-kept example is the safest path in a market where accident history is common.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find value.

• Deal availability: 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 447 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.79% compared with last year.
• Clean inventory: 61.3% of listings are accident-free.

If you find a listing below $11,659, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe's resale value?

The current average of $11,680 sits slightly below last year's $12,806.

That softer pricing suggests the model has already absorbed some depreciation, which can help future resale stability if you buy at the right number. If you choose a clean, well-maintained example, you may have a better chance of limiting further value loss. Strong condition and a good ownership record matter more when the market is already pricing the vehicle below its prior-year level.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.67/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2017 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2017 if:

• 30.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• At 61.3% accident-free, a meaningful share of listings has prior incidents — history verification is especially important.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.79% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.67/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2018 if:

• At $14,535, the 2018 costs more than the current year's $11,680 average.
• It emphasizes safety, roominess, and dependability.

The bottom line: You should lean toward the 2017 if you want the better value proposition and are willing to shop carefully for a clean, well-kept example. If you can stretch your budget and want a newer-feeling alternative with a stronger emphasis on safety and dependability, the 2018 is the better secondary path.
